Are the replacent joysticks & the LCD monitor replacements from TwoBits ok or how does this seller stack up against other parts providers?

Good video, helped me tackle my Mrs Pacman joystick. I didn't find the video on my initial search, might help to list the games that are featured in the title or description.

Hi buddy,I have just subscribed;)... I have a 30 year old cab, I amnhaving trouble taking out push buttons .I can take out micro switch... But cant get locknut past the micro switch holder. I have tried squeezing and twisting..no joy , any tips amigo? Greetings from Ireland:)
@arcaderepairtips4 жыл бұрын
We've only had this problem a couple of times over the years. The best solution we have come up with is to cut the locknut off and either replace it with a new one or replace the push button entirely. We also covered your question on our Live Show Episode 39. Here's a link to the episode if you want to watch it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoO8ppWFabuml7M. Please check it out if you want to hear more of our thoughts on your issue. Thank you for your question and good luck with your future repairs.

Can I buy a replacement joysticks for my midway 12 in 1 with robotron and defender ?
@arcaderepairtips9 ай бұрын
Yes, you should be able to get a replacement joystick for your Midway 12-in-1 cabinet. If it’s a commercial arcade, try an arcade parts distributor such as Suzo/Happ, Arcadeshop, etc. If it’s a home arcade, try eBay or Amazon. Most Arcade1Up cabinets use Zippy-style joysticks. Depending on your game, you may need to solder/splicing some wiring in order to install it. Please send some pics of your cabinet to questions@arcaderepairtips.com if you need additional help. We will also be covering your question on our Live Show Episode 85. Here's a link to the episode if you want to watch it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qae7Y6Ojgpeqe5Y

I have to remove the joystick to get the overlay off but not sure how to do it.? Its a microswitch type
@arcaderepairtips Жыл бұрын
In order to remove the joystick handle, you will need to remove the E-clip that’s holding it in place. This will require accessing the inside of the control panel. We like to use a small screwdriver and needle nose pliers to remove them. If you would like to hear more of our thoughts, we will be discussing your question on our Live Show Episode 71 which can be found at the following link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqHNgmiEbcqXgMU

But where did you get the new leaf switch from?
@arcaderepairtips4 жыл бұрын
Replacement leaf switches can be purchased from Twisted Quarter (twistedquarter.com) along with some other arcade parts suppliers. Please see our Resources page (arcaderepairtips.com/resources/) for more suppliers.

My husand would like to ask you a question please: On my original, upright Galaga arcade, the "fire" button consistently stops working after 30 secs. It initially will shoot normally for 30 secs and then quits working altogether. " Thank you so much!
@Gubalicious4 жыл бұрын
Does the player 2 fire button do the same thing?
@arcaderepairtips8 ай бұрын
It took us a while to think of an explanation for this. The only thing we have been able to come up with is that it is related to a demo mode bug. There’s a bug exists in Galaga that allows a player to play during the demo screen. During the demo, a top-row enemy will come down and start to tractor-beam up the player's ship. As soon as that tractor-beam starts, the player can take control of the ship! After 30 seconds, the demo mode will complete and the high-score screen will appear. You can find out more information about this bug on the Digital Press website: digitpress.com/eastereggs/arcadegalaga.htm In order to start the game mode, make sure that you coin up the game (not needed if game is set to free play) using either the coin switches or an actual coin and press either the P1 or P2 start buttons to start the game. This should ensure that you are in gameplay mode and not demo mode. Hope that helps.

Hey :) when i move my joystick to the right sometimes nothing happens. Other times moving to the left Will resultat in double tap and in game. Player Will start to run to the left by only one single move on the switch and sometimes there is no action at all when i move to the left. Any ideAs pal ? Cheers.

Ups not right. Left! Only when it moves left :)
@arcaderepairtips4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it's either a wiring and/or a joystick switch related issue. Check to make sure that all of the switches are making a good connection to the harness and the board. If your joystick uses leaf switches, try cleaning and adjusting them to see if it gets it working (in the case of the right direction) or stops the double tap (in the case of the left direction). If it's microswitch based, you may need to replace them. We also covered your question on our Live Show Episode 39. Hi. I have a Cyber Sled I just picked up and I'm having some issues with the joysticks on that. They're different than what you described here. One problem is that one joystick is registering with the game, but it doesn't move the actual tank. For instance, if I push up on the joystick you can see a part of the tank move which should make it go forward but it doesn't??? The part on the tank moves but the tank itself sits still? Also, if I put the game in test mode, UP is registering... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a joysick with 11 buttons on it. I'm tempted to sacrifice a button switch to get the joystick fully operational again but...I havent diagnosed this problem properly. I also live near an electronics shop and have a pal who's electro shop is nearby. I would just let him put it in than me. I'm hoping I could just slip some tinfoil inside somewhere so I dont have to get my cheap and nasty solder kit out.
@arcaderepairtips9 ай бұрын
You can order replacement microswitches from most arcade parts suppliers or even Amazon/eBay. No reason to “sacrifice” one from a button. PLEASE don’t use tinfoil for connections! Get some crimp terminals/end connectors and put those on the wires instead. These are designed to easily connect to the prongs on the microswitches. No soldering required! We will also be covering your question on our Live Show Episode 85. Here's a link to the episode if you want to watch it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qae7Y6Ojgpeqe5Y

On my mame arcade, alot (not all) of games wont necessarily go left. It weird. If you barely move the joystick left, it'll go but if you move the joystick all the way left, it wont go. Im new at repair and I dont know what to do. Someone said it might be a software issue. Again, some games work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

I go to a meeting in my town and they let us play with the arcades, but some retards broke 2 of them I was able to fix one of them but the other needed a very thick fuse. Try checking where the coin goes and see if in flicks the switch, if it does and doesn't react see if the wire is connected to the piece of metal.
