well I don't mind you can always turn off the games with bad audio 50 something working games sure beat 2 games that have problems too plus this saves you score if you wont it too and you can power off

What is jama ? Is it better than using a raspberry pi ? I would like to make one of these cabinets and put the roller ball for centipede and to have the jump and fire button and the joystick to allow me to do elevator action and other games that require a jump and fire Has anyone done this and what is the best way to go about changing these machines over ? Are the joysticks and trackballs USB or do they require a custom connection to the control boards like the pi ?

Jama is the name of the connector (Japanese arcade machine association) and using a trackball is very easy you will just have to set up the inputs.

I'm following your build with the same parts. What wires did you splice to the on/off switch to go into the test menu (red and black) - did you connect one of those to the "test" wire (orange on mine) direct to the 60-1 motherboard?

I believe there is just one wire that says test menu I took that wire and put it on one side of the on and off switch and then a ground wire on the other one then all you have to do is put it to the on position and turn off the cabinet and then turn it back on while still in the on position and it will start the test menu

Hello Josh, I have a question. How did you get power to the Jamma Board? Did you had to connect the 400 watt psu wire to the Jamma Board? Please let me know.

On the bottom of the power supply there are three places you have to put the power cord the hot common in the ground then it just plugs into the surge protector as far as the other way it comes out of the Jamma harness into the board

why not Pi3? Street Fighjter is great for pi3 as all the buttons are done and I was able to fit a 2 1/4 trackball in the upper corner too.

How did you get your screen to stretch? Mine has a 2 inch black bar at the top. I've tried using the controller board but it's maxed out in the vertical setting

Great video, but you forgot one thing on the ICade. It's the second button to use on the other games.

But not very easy to use where you placed it while playing games requiring 2 buttons, but as you said, the main games you want to play are 0 or 1 button games. But for others, it'll be better to mount it right next to the existing button.

I installed the same joystick in your link. It seems to stick in games like Pac Man when going up after left or right. The joystick needs to click, reset to center before up. It doesn’t like diagonal changes and often goes left when I meant to go up. Maze games and Burgertime are really tough to play with it. Maybe there is another joystick style I could try

I have some trouble with mine as well i put some wd 40 and it helped a little and changed it to 8 way and that also helped it is hard to play on 4 way if you find another one better let me know because I might wont to switch too

Ive wired mine up. The power, screen and sound works fine but the controls aren't doing anything. Could you send a picture of what yours looks like? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I would love to send it to you about the wires are packed too deep in there I bet you accidentally wired the second player and not the first player it is an easy mistake because the wires look so similar I would check that that would probably be the only thing

Why not power the display board directly off the power supply? Instead of having an additional adapter to plug in?

Josh Fletcher not the AC in but the 12v wires that plug into the display board. Couldn’t those wires be cut and connected directly to the 12v out on the power supply? Then you only need one power cord. It’s what I’m thinking of doing when I mod mine. I’m just trying to think of a downside (if there is one).

yea I had to do that because the Graffias were so bad on Street fight 2 and it was missing the left sound now it has about 45 games on it plus the picture looks better and no missing sound

I just hooked up the Jamma 60-1 with my Arcade 1Up Deluxe model and the screen is rotated 90 degrees. Is there a setting to rotate it or do I need to physically rotate the screen?

I did not have to do anything it just came on correctly

I guess the problem is you have the Galaga Arcade 1Up and I have the Deluxe. The Deluxe has a horizontal screen and the Galaga has a vertical screen orientation. I didn't realize it until now. I had to physically rotate the screen and re-mount it in the cabinet. All is good, now. :)

Seems you would pick the SF cabinet, so more buttons for other games. Unless the Galaga art was the main goal.

I'd say the SF cabinet is more for the horizontal X-in-1 board or raspberry pi setup where there are tons more games that would use the extra buttons and horizontal display. Totally makes sense to put in a 60/412-in-1 board in the galaga with the nice art and vertical screen. Seriously considering moving my 60-in-1 board into one of these.
