I have to say thanks again Fox for this video, I was able to do this with my T2 cab. It was kinda difficult to do in the beginning (a lot of trial and error with the blue gun) but once i got it down, it was a breeze for the red gun. Both soldering and hot glue gun is definitely required and of course the oscillating tool.

Me and a buddy knew the worker at The Fashion Mall arcade in Lauderdale FL back in the 90's. One day we were playing T2 and he walked up, opened the coin panel, and toggled untold amounts of credits to beat the game lol. Can't remember if we did or not. My buddy I met up with there always kept cigarette butts in his leather jacket, so it was hard not to puke and dry heave during the game.

Hey Fox, this was an outstanding mod. Something I've never seen anyone else do and it really turned out excellent...makes me wonder if there's a similar option for my Aim Trak gun. Personally, I think it looks good either way (on all the time or on/off with trigger pull). I'd probably wire it up myself to be on the trigger pull to add to the interactive experience. Very cool!!

Hey Fox, how much you cut off for the gun for the led strip, I have an oscillating tool as well and as stated before... I may try this lol

Dude great work, that looks killer! It is still to bad that Arcade1up didn't add more shooter games on that cabinet. Paying that kind of money for 1 game seemed a ripoff to me. But yeah that cabinet looks 100 times better with painting the guns black and adding the lights! Props man!

It was probably licensing reasons that prevented them. The license was probably for T2 only, and not other Midway games like Revolution X which they would have had to get permission from Aerosmith and pay them. Fast and the Furious has only two games for the same reason. The legacy cabs they were able to put more games on.

In my personal experience the best paint for plastics and fabrics is Dupli-Color interior vinyl paint. It is pretty pricey but has little to no odor and no orange peeling going on. I did an entire '82 Datsun 280zx interior with it and got lots of compliments. I even painted the original shift knob with the blue and it stayed on quite well.

I'm still hoping that someone makes a replacement feedback module. I'd love to have the force feedback on but the stock module is so cheap I had one fail on me almost instantly.

Wish you didn’t skip key steps to this mod. Did you take any material off the guns themselves? How exactly do the leds fit in/out of the gun molding & close properly? I heard you mention you had to trim some of the led material. Just wondering how exactly this closes up with the led strip running out of the inside of the guns.

what did you use to cut out the top portion of the gun to expose the LED strip, and did you attach the USB to the strip or cut that end as well and hard line it? Via the video all I can see is hot glue at the end of the LED strip with the pos and neg wires going into the end of the strip
@19kfox2 жыл бұрын
I used an oscillating tool with a wood blade to trim the plastic. I then used high temp hot glue.

Wow plastic recoil. What a piece a crap. This is why Arcade1up has such bad reputation as being a toy company. Why even bother?
