As someone who worked at Wendy's when the transition happened, I'm surprised at how good at Corny was able to tell that they changed the oil. They did actually changed the oil to some soy/cotton oil blend at the time. Also I was bummed out they also changed the meat type as well. Working at that time and hearing all the complaints was hell but I felt how those people felt.

Corny's sounds like a great place to work. Really the best time to get fast food is either at peak time like 11am-2pm or 5pm-8pm or middle of the night like 3am level or when the place opens. That goes for just about any fast food place I have been in my life

Wendy's makes my favorite fast food burger (by far), but the fries are incredibly sub par (and always were even before the recipe change IMHO) Though as a midwest guy, I am partial to Steak N' Shake (though I consider them half a step up from "fast food")

Just had Hardee's fries. 10-20% of them were soggy and it appears that the reason is a lack of potato inside so the oil gets soaked up and remains. To me, Wendy's fries are far too often overcooked and even more inedible. Worst fries in my opinion is from Penn Station. Far too often 50-60% were overcooked. I just started bringing in my own potato chips and stopped eating their fries and I haven't regretted that decision.

Wendy's in 2011 is the dictionary definition of the old phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". It wasn't broken...and they fixed it anyway. Hence, I rarely hit up a Wendy's anymore. As for good fries, I have to give credit to White Castle. Their burgers are absolute garbage...but the fries are those good crinkle-cut variety.
