I do want to say, that you said where would she recover? I think there ARE animal sanctuaries that would take her. But obviously if you were unable to actually get an animal ambulance or get her into the car, then that is sadly irrelevant, although for future reference, there are places that will do all they can to help save her and look after her.

Lots of deer survive getting shot and live with the bullets for years. Many wind up dying hours or days later. There's really no humane way to kill anything with a gun, bow or poison ... which get used in rural areas all the time. Whether it belong to an animal or human, a body does not want to die.

I deplore the abuse of any animals and I hate guns even more. With that said hunters can usually kill a deer with the first shot from long ditances. I have to assume the cop that attempted to shoot this deer just really sucked at his job and I hope you never have to rely on that cop to defend you.

I Hate Deer. And Last Time I Listened to This clip was wasnt too Bothered. However on Christmas Eve I was on My Farm And Riding My 6 wheeler wher out of the corner of my eye i saw a Baby Kangaroo Lying there shaking. By the time i called My Dad And He Brought a Gun it was too Late. Then even worse less tham a week later i was riding along our top fence. I saw a Very Small Baby Deer Stuck in the the fence and i thought it had gotten it's self stuck. Do i called my Dad He comes up takes a look and goes shit. The Baby Deer Broke It's Spine. There's only one thing you can do in the Situation. Fuck

And yes I did it once and it felt wrong. Granted I was a kid and couldn't drink yet (honestly the real point of hunting) but I'm sitting halfway up a tree freezing my ass off hoping some animal that poses no threat to me will wander into my sights. Calm down Jim. Humans have hunted animals since we started to develop advanced thinking skills, which necessitated the need for meat due to it's high fat and protein content. Also, when you hit a deer it's useless trying to give it medical attention for injuries like two broken back legs because nothing's gonna help it. I do agree with you though on human encroachment when it comes to the impact on animal behaviors. I will say this though, that deer is a beast if it took that many shots. I hunt and it only takes one.
