One of the greatest heels of all time. I didn't watch a lot of WWF but I would always this guy's matches when he had the Intercontinental title, just waiting for someone to kick his ass. I've grown to appreciate this guy's talent. Wrestling could use a couple of guys that could get heat like this guy. Great on the mic, excellent in the ring, and never turned babyface. He was the definition of heel. I salute you HTM.

I'm so glad they talked about Don Fargo. I lived near Pensacola Fla. in early 70's when they did wresting every Sunday night at the Pensacola Civic Center. Don Fargo was the star attraction and was absolutely great. I also remember a very young Greg Valentine partnering with Don Fargo as his younger "brother" for awhile.

I totally agree on wrestling's current lack of true, hateable heels. For a brief, shining moment, though, Tomasso Ciampa was able to get the crowd booing him SO loudly, that they paused his titantron at a Takeover just to hear the crowd booing him, and even chanting "fuck you Ciampa!" which I've never heard from a crowd in WWE or NXT. Unfortunately, parts of the crowd are now cheering him. *sigh* I hate my fellow nerds sometimes.

Nobody wants to be a pure heel anymore because a big part of a wrestlers paycheck is merchandise sold. Nobody buys a heels merch except to maybe burn it. Everybody wants to be tweeners or baby faces because that's where the money is.
@josephmatthews7698
@josephmatthews7698 5 жыл бұрын
Why would anyone want to be a wrestler anymore? If you're a legit athlete you'll be treated better with better money in a pro sports arena like UFC or NFL\NBA. If you're a good talker you'll make way more money doing podcasts or KZbin work. If you're a creative guy you'll make more money writing movies and TV shows. If you got a great look why not be an actor instead? Wrestlers have the worst retirement plan, why risk your life and family like that? Except for hulk Hogan nearly every wrestlers post wrestling life is a horrifying story because WWE doesn't give a crap about the guys who built that place. As a result when you're watching WWE your watching a guy not athletic enough to be in the UFC, a talker not clever enough to be featured on KZbin, a guy not creative enough for Hollywood, and a guy not pretty enough to be an actor.

awesome clip two very smart guys! it's interesting the very first "Hardcore" is the original Tupelo concession stand brawl which would be copied by Onita with FMW where in the states Tri Star Wrestling copied FMW and became ECW so in Pro Wrestling nothing is very original..... there are both dead on over doing stuff kills the business FMW was drawing massive numbers but, the over the top deathmatches was done to death and killed the promotion ECW on the other hand had a lot more issues between Heyman using the promotion to launder money then selling the (name/license to the WWF) while starving out his employes until it folded It takes real brains to understand Pro Wrestling when you have writers instead of bookers that's a problem too Then again maybe the Internet helped kill Pro Wrestling too..... AAA+++ video

The Attittude Era can not hold a candle the 1980's Memphis Wrestling. It was extreme before "extreme" was a house hold name.

Jim Cornette was with WWE from 1993 until 2005. I'm pretty sure that more than covers the attitude era. During the attitude era, he worked as an on air talent, commentator, and was part of creative.
