Was is an unprofessional mistake? Yes it was but with that being said the 15% more damage from kinetic does not cancel the other points made in his video. You still need to stay still and make sure you hit both shots of the burst in order to do just a little bit more damage than a normal slug and also if you are doing only one weapon damage+manual reload on a damage phase you're gonna lack in damage. Nessa's Oblation was never used as a standalone weapon and it was only used in Slug swapping. It's like compairing Prospector which is a mag dump+manual reload to Anarchy which is used in swapping loadouts. Hence why, Llama's video is also flawed.

Reload speed is the real issue though. The new shotguns reload time is long as hell. So overall DPS would still put new shotgun below the leaders.

the main thing I'm thinking it could be neat for is proccing cascade point very very fast. not sure if that makes it worthwhile in a rotation though, especially when you could just use fourth horseman to do that instead

The thing is tho - with slugs, you practically never ever want to go for "shoot all 36 + fttc ammo at once", but rather "tractor slug/slug", which makes for Nessa's for much better option, since you don't need to maintain stacks on precision instrument and this one shoots slower than nessa's even if you got vorpal for it. Might be some "total very long precision close" good scenario but that's like 1 in a thousand. NOT worth IMHO. Nice review tho .-.

So its essentially the same as the rewind rounds + fourth times the charm roll on supremacy. Good total damage if you have a 5 minute damage phase, and not worth using compared to other weapons. Trench barrel is a bug and wont stick around, so i wouldnt even look at that. If you're using a slug for dps, double slugs will easily outdo this.

Please be smart and keep a good roll of this weapon regardless of how good you think it is now. This is a new frame so bungie at some point will 100% buff them and I promise this thing will at some point be a great pick for certain encounters or activities

I expected a more realistic aproach from Llama and not the general fake "hype" movement of yt creators. Comparing this shotgun with Nessa's Oblation is quite wrong. It's like comparing Prospector with Anarchy. One is a mag dump+reload and the other is used ONLY in swapping loadouts. EDIT: Well at least the ending reactions were realistic

Regardless im not gonna nit pick stuff from the video but im gonna still stand my point that comparison was flawed considering a real life scenario. Also, the weapon is usable but it needs a niche boss (one that doesnt attack you constantly and flinch you) and a specific buff (Divinity bubble) in order to be USABLE. That is quite far from beimg meta.

Its really good on corrupted puppeteer with trench barrel and anarchy. Bungie really should have given us a rapid fire arc sniper, but this will sufice.

It might just be me but I find landing both shots of the burst on the crit spot on enemies with normal sized crit areas inconsistent. I'd rather use a recombination heritage or trench Barrel aggressive if I'm trying to burst a major. 4ttc with this thing in a dps scenario is cool though.

im so glad im not the only person here with this same issue. ive noticed this tbh with a lot of slug shotguns in the energy slot namely the RON shotgun "nessa's oblation" seems to have some utter garbage hit reg for crits yet sojourners tale (the new solar one) seems significantly more consistent and on the same level as heritage.

He tested damage with Heritage on Carl whos not a boss so he still takes the extra 15% damage from being a Kinetic weapon. Compared to other elemental slugs it actually a fair bit more.

The 15% damage bonus does not save it, even if it does more dmg than a standalone normal slug you still lack damage in a proper rotation. Also good luck trying to stay still under a boss that blasts you into in the nerfed Well while also trying to hit both shots of the burst.

@@greekgodcomplex5449 You know, for him to say this that means he's already watched it. Also, he's not exactly wrong. The title is misleading, DPS wise it's not the new king of shotguns, its the jester of shotguns. The numbers shown here aren't exactly correct telling the whole story. He skipped over the reload issue. You see, the new shotgun takes twice as long to reload than a normal slug and 140 shotguns. This means it actually puts out less damage. You can fix this issue a bit with Dual loader perk but that would require you to remove FTC perk which hurts the DPS as well.
