I have to say, that's a nice welder. I like Miller myself. I do have to let you know, you are pulling and not pushing your weld. The direction of movement is TOWARDS the direction and not away from it. Give that a shot and see the difference.

I have the same Arc captain welder. What settings are you using for sheet metal ?

I've got some .023 wire with CO2 for sheet metal, I should use argon mix but don't have it. With the 18 ga metal I've ran at the lowest setting it'll do, and it turns out ok, but I'm not good at welding so I'm still learning what to change and when.

@StateFun nice! I'm teaching myself how to weld, I'm not that good at it currently. I'm using .030 flux core wire with the welder set at 12.5V and 2.0 wire speed it seems to be the sweet spot for thin sheet metal. I'm working with 16 and 18 gauge on a 71' C20 truck.

@StateFun I've been looking for one for a while now, but nothing comes up that is nearby. I just ordered that welder btw. I have an old 110 craftsman welder, made in Italy, that I bought from sears when they were still around lol. It's gas capable and I've been using it to restore a 69 camaro.

Unfortunately not much has happened yet. I've been busy this year trying to get the house setup after we moved in. I'm hoping to get back on it after the holidays. Probably shouldn't have picked the floors to start on 🤣
