Great video. Thank you for working in Metric and showing the Arcdroid data entry console techniques.

Excellent video. This is convincing me this is what I need. As much as I would like a table this is a little more realistic. Please post more when you can of any work you do.

Great timing. 10 o’clock Wednesday night in Queensland Australia and I just walked inside from building a cutting table for my Arcdroid😃👍

Thanks for all of the independent research on this machine. Your past videos have already helped me before. Would you say cut speed is more of a factor if I’m not getting dimensionally accurate cuts, or would it be a combination of amperage affecting the kerf on the cut? I’ve been struggling to have my arcdroid get exactly to the dimension I program.. always off about 1/16” in American. Thanks!
@amp_mechanic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christopher. That is one of several factors. First, amperage you run depends on the rating of your nozzle. If you run an amperage outside of the rating range, the cut will not be as nice. (Ex. For PT or IPT torches, a 0.040 nozzle is rated for 40-50amps. An 0.035 is rated for 30-40amps.) When running in the optimal range (cut speed, cut height, enough air pressure) your kerf width should be about 30% larger than your nozzle diameter. If you're running a 0.040in nozzle ( 1.0mm), you would expect to have a kerf of 0.051in. It's important to set this up properly in your CAD software or on the ArcDroid if using simple trace. If you're still not getting that kerf, try running slower. And check your cut height, running too low or too high can also cause bevel or your kerf to be smaller than it should be. And for this, run straight lines so you can measure more accurately. Hope that helps!

@@amp_mechanic It definitely does helps! I will take your advice and cut some lines. Thank you 🙏

Nice machine, but how does it know whether it is a 2mm or 10mm thick plate you have on the table?
@amp_mechanic11 ай бұрын
It probes the surface each cut and uses your cut height to offset the torch that distance off the top of the material. You set your plasma cutter for whatever thickness of material you are cutting, same as you would for hand cutting.

What cut height do u run at when the torch is cutting
@amp_mechanic10 ай бұрын
My default is usually 1.7mm. From there to 2.5mm usually works well. To come up with that, I looked at what the distance was if I was hand cutting using a standoff guide. So if your torch is different, has a different standoff guide length, I'd use whatever that is and adjust from there.
