So someone finally got it, that Ox King is actually one of the MOST powerful demon kings from Journey to the West (which Dragon Ball is based on). It took the combined forces of gods sent from two different religions (Jade Emperor and Buddha) to capture him, after Sun Wukong (who Son Goku is based on) could not defeat him in an endless draw.

The reason why Arch Angel Goku got one shot is because of his Shōki was disturbed, making him weaker than he should’ve been. Ki is made up out of three parts, Genki: Vigor Yūki: Courage Shōki: Right Mindedness When either one of these are disturbed, it can cause you to become weaker than you would be normally. Goku just saw his son get taken over by a demon, and then using his son’s own voice to call him a terrible father. I’d be disturbed too.

I think this is the best explanation for Gohan’s new powers that I’ve ever heard. Dragon Ball Kakumi did a great job of explaining how he could’ve gotten it but not what it was. This went in so much detail as to its origins and where it came from that this would be perfect if it was adapted to the official canon manga for either Dragon Ball super or any upcoming TV series involving Dragon Ball.
