"Handshake with Hell" is Grammy level perfection. Right off...the musicians in Arch Enemy are some of the best anywhere...Daniel is a beast with those double kicks, Sharlee learned how to drop the beat heavy in his days with Mercyful Fate, and Mike and Jeff are two of the greatest guitarists on the map. And then there's the Queen Beast Alyssa who is the most drop dead gorgeous goddess to grace any stage on Earth, is vegan, an animal rights activist, and has proven herself as one of the most talented and versatile vocalists in metal who can not only bellow like a beast but also reveals clean vocals that shame even the worlds most celebrated pop divas. Together...they have master crafted what I have coined the "Song of Power". Also major props to the video production...it follows every beat perfectly...and the fire looked HOT!

Arch Enemy has been around since 1995. Swedish melodic Death Metal band from swedens second largest city Gothenbourg (Göteborg). Band was started by the dark haired lead guitarrist Michael Amott. The band started at a time when the bands in Gothenbourg somehow worked out a sound called ”the Gothenbourgh sound” and bands such as ”At The Gates, In Flames and even power metallband Hammerfall brouhht it to the world. Alissa White-Gluz is the lead singer now. She is a Canadian vocal genious from Montreal. Before her Arch Enemy had Angela Gossow as a front figure. Angela being an inspiration to many young women and now actually being the babds manager after becoming a mother. Angela has also trained Alissas harsh vocal techniques to be where they are in this, the latest, video. Alissa did harsh before but has a noticeably stronger metal vocal after a few years with AE. You got alot to see and hear. Note that clean vocals, so far, has been rarely appearing in AE songs histurically. Stay Metal! 🤘😎🤘

That album, Wages of Sin, is still one of my favorite metal albums of all time and I'm not a huge death metal fan. It's taken a little for me to warm up to Alissa, but Angela picked a great replacement.

Definitifly a masterpiece! I love the eye-catcher Alissa with her growl or (beautiful) clean or soft voice. Her stage presence is simply magical and incredible! It is not the 1st time for Arch Enemy. Listen to the song "Reason to Believe" on album WILL TO POWER with clean voice. I think it was a long overdue step, use the full potential of her voice. Btw. who designs her fuckin' outfits? I've heard by herself... And the other guys? Guitars? Bass? Drums? Really perfect and amazing. A lot of ideas that makes me addicted eg. solos, the bridge ... This song blows my mind away!

@@donaldjackson4456 To me Nemesis is the better song in a live setting because of how the lyrics meld with the crowd. There's a reason they closed most of their pre-covid shows with it. Don't get me wrong War Eternal and You Will Know My Name are amazing too, but the difference between live and studio isn't as pronounced as with Nemesis which I agree has much less of an impact in the album than live.

Lead singer Alissa White-Gluz is Canadian and also sings with another metal band the Agonist. She is also a backing vocalist for metal band Kamelot as well. Alissa's usual vocals are growls but she has quite a good clean vocal voice which she has quite a large range. In 2012, her and Amaranthe's singer, Elize Ryd, stepped in to sing vocals for Nightwish in Denver when singer Anette Olzon went I'll just before the concert.

well done reaction and a nice personality, deffo looking this up again and i had same reaction as u did when i first heard them, im swedish myself but i missed out on so much music from mid 90 to 2010 just assuming metal as in new metal was dead always looking at my bands live on utube, like maiden, Alice cooper, metallica priest, rush, europe and many old banfs i grew up with. But after watching a documentary on swedish public access tv about swedish metal from 80-today, i realized there was a ton of bands i just had ignored coz they were labelled as deathmetal. So now im a fan of ARch enemy, Inflames, meshuggah, and even Clawfinger wich first i heard was a rap band, wich isnt even true, yes he is rapping but the music is metal. My son introduced me to bands like Sabaton and Hammerfall so my world got huge now and with internet i can watch anything i want. Musical freedom for an old guy :)

Symphonic metal band IGNEA from the Ukraine. This song was recorded in 2015. With a whole orchestra. They are actually in Kiew, recording for a new album. Helle (the singer) just posted this a few days ago. I'm just a german guy, not in anyway related to the Ukraine. I just hate the war, actually raging. Too old to go out and fight. I was born in 1960. Plus: very important! I'm also a big fan of the band GRAi, from Tartarstan, Russia! Who are doing their best to make the world know what is currently happening. (Would make another reaction.
