Correct: Handshake With Hell or The Wolf You Feed ... both is great and different from The Eagle Flies Alone ... Anyhow, Arch Enemy or Alissa on Her own is really worth listening to, also the whole new Nita Strauss CD with many singer collaborations ...

Alissa has been doing this for a long while. Previous to joining Arch Enemy, who were already a massive band, she was in a band called The Agonist.

Love Arch Enemy and Alissa is one of the class of metal vocalists who has a whole massive vocal toolkit available to then. She growls with AE but she has the technique and vocal agility to hit operatic high notes if she wishes (check her Swan Lake with the band The Agonist for an example). It is always a treat when you find one of her other styles, but the growls are always the most epic to me. I especially love how the diction is so clear, her predecessor and now manager and once mentor, Angela Gossow who is the OG, was the same. This is such an anthem of empowerment that the lyrics *should* be heard, and not lost in an overly distorted muddy mess.

Nightwish and Arch Enemy are both thirty years old. They've been around for a long time. Nightwish does a lot of epic, gothic romance music while Arch Enemy is all about the epic anthems and fight cheers. I think of Nightwish as for the champagne and wine moments, while Arch Enemy is for those times you just want a beer and whiskey. You should check out one of their live videos sometime. They get the crowd pumped and ready to take on an army.

Just found you. I found Arch Enemy on tv at 15. The song was We Will Rise and it scared the shit out of me. Looking at me now, people would LMFAO. It does take adjusting but if you enjoy it, you get accustomed to it after time. Stay well. Subbed :)

Awesome reaction! One thing in future dont end songs before video ends the piano at end is insane in the song. When u will eventually dive into Rammstein as everyone end up doing sometimes theres 3 minutes of amazing piano in the credits.

The energy is what defines metal. All bands want to get your adrenaline pumping. Alissa also has a good clear voice: ARCH ENEMY - Handshake With Hell (OFFICIAL VIDEO) I think her predecessor is the better growler, but she never sang with her clear voice. Today she is just the band's manager: Arch Enemy - 18.Nemesis Live in Tokyo 2008 (Tyrants of the Rising Sun DVD) What I can think of that would suit your channel better: You stopped Nightwish too early and actually heard the “wrong” version because it was the original. The singer changed twice and the current one changed the ending. Additionally, the current video from them: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (WACKEN 2013) Nightwish - Tribal (OFFICIAL LIVE) ABBA on Metal: AMARANTHE - Damnation Flame (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) And one of the pop queens who work in metal: Within Temptation - Bleed Out (official music video)

I'd really recommend returning to Nightwish. There's a big comment from Gabriel on your first reaction to them with links to lots of other great songs.
