It's good that Linux is "boring". It means that it's matured. And I know all the kids love having a riced desktop (I did, too). But nowadays I prefer having a stable system I know will work 100% of the time so that I can get my stuff done.

Been using archcraft for a year now, it's just arch but simply easier and better, the prepare rices are easy to use and configure, and it's also THE distortion I would recommend to an intermediate in Linux that wants to use arch but doesn't have enough knowledge to install it.

Garuda is better it's Arch Linux out of the box some people will THINK there's bloatware but it's all preconfigured right out of the package been giving it a go for a week it's free and better than Windblows 11 you might want to test drive it before installing using popsicle.

@@CarlJohnson-cb9xm it is not gnome. It’s running a tiling window manager which is superior to desktop environments like gnome if you have the patience to learn a slightly new way to do things. Kind of like when Apple took the iPhone home button away, exactly like that. Everybody thought that home button was the best way to do things. Very few people miss it. That’s what happens to DEs after you start using some kind of WM. You realize you have found an easier way of doing things.

If you’re not writing your own bootloader from scratch in order to run Arch, what’s the point? Arch is supposed to be the top-level flex because of how much time you can waste just to get it running.

Appreciate the video. Thanks for introducing some new fun distros. I still think vanilla arch is much superior because of the lack of any features. I can spend hours trying to understand and figure out how the computer actually works. I guess the word minimal and lightweight really ticked off a lot of the viewes. You can't say it is lightweight and then show that it has multiple versions of the same applications. Still, I loved the production quality and your screen presence. Thanks again.

Arch Linux defines simplicity as without unnecessary additions or modifications. It ships software as released by the original developers (upstream) with minimal distribution-specific (downstream) changes: patches not accepted by upstream are avoided, and Arch's downstream patches consist almost entirely of backported bug fixes that are obsoleted by the project's next release.
