Heads up for anyone wanting to do this build on a budget It is possible and will be fine for all you p1 farming needs on battlenet and won’t run you very much. Can get a lot of your gear for pgems farming nm trav and cubing them up (trav in general has best drop rate for flawless gems) 20 points into salvation, holy fire, holy freeze, resist fire and resist cold Gear: Helm- p crown/lore helm Weapon - raven claw/kuko/demon machine. Demon is the best pick imo for ias/pierce/ar Weapon switch - wizendraw Body - any + skill armor will do. Spirit shroud is cheap and gives CNBF Belt - razor tail. Pretty much bis and needed. If you don’t have this any +life res stats belt will do Boots - any tbh. I prefer aldurs however infernostrides are good as well cuz +fire damage Gloves magefists/lavagouts/any Jewelery - any +AR rings eventually a raven frostx2 ammy will be +3 off aura Inventory- off aura GCs. These are very cheap in the trading community Usually can get them for pgems/pammy on Traderie. Merc a2 blessed aim merc with obedience tals helm and whatever armor you can get. Treachery if you can afford it Shael your weapons. Technically kuko can get more attack per second with ias than demon machine but with the latter offering AR and AR needed to period and start exploding arrows chains I typically prefer it. Also with demon and razor tail you get 99% pierce as opposed to 83%? With kuko. Shael all you need with demon machine to hit 2.5 attacks per second. Also something important. For holy fire +skill gear will always beat out +fire damage. If I remember the math correctly +1 off aura skills gives you like +150-160 fire damage when fully synergized and with perfectly rolled fire damage scs three will only net you 120-130 for three inventory slots so the former is better for your fire damage as opposed to the latter and also this increase the damage for your holy freeze aura. I’d have to check a skill calculator but you can get 5-6k damage on a holy fire arrow and like 4K on holy freeze all for cheap. Really just need the weapon and the belt to get going in hell cows tbh haha. Finally tip ar is underated in this build(the reason we use an act 2 blessed aim merc) because if your arrow lands a hit the monster takes double damage 1 from the arrow 1 from the explosion basically doubling your damage. That 5k arrow turns into 10k and now you’re in fireball sorc territory. Additionally this can trigger chance to pierce in tightly pack groups like cows you basically creating a shotgun effect causing insane amounts of damage. I’m 90% certain. Pretty sure next hit delay doesn’t effect this but I’ve been wrong before lmao. Anyways, super long post but this is my favorite build from my child hood and they buffed it in D2R with the synergy changes. Nothing but joy over here and if you play this build I hope you get just as much joy outta it as I did when I was a child. Enjoy! (Edited to correct my misunderstanding of mechanics)

Are you certain about the "act 1 rouge with exploding arrow will benefit from your aura"? I see no evidence to support this. And it would be crazy strong since the merc could then splash for more damage than you, basically. Cheers

how does cold aura stack from your skills with the aura from the bow? Also does all the fire damage added on your gear and skills also get added to the explosive arrow explosion and does the same happen with added cold or lightning damage?

Because the build focus is on elemental physical damage. The conviction aura gives the build most of the damage. Fanaticism would be more for a melee build. The attack speed would be higher however that would massively decrease the damage. Same with laying of hands the focus isn’t physical enhanced damage it’s elemental physical damage. Lava gout has + to fire damage and the enchant cast which also increases the elemental damage.

its my favorit build. i start with Raven Claw at level 15 and than switch to Kuko Shakaku and finaly Demon Machine i love the 99% pircing. i do normaly play him as a hybrid fanatic on switch for imunitys.

I'm the same kind of player- right now I'm leveling an upped eth perf ribcracker principle armor holy bolt zealot/foh hybrid(made level 76 just last night for my endgame ribby ,dracs and torch!) And my brand bear necro,who's still in his fishymancer leveling stage. Best believe that brand is going to find it's way onto a pally and a sorc someday! My vengeance decap sorc is drooling for sunders to hit open bnet.

Hi @Xtimus, I am definitely a fan of those off-meta builds with interesting twists. However: 1) I would have loved to see a well-thought-out build for 2.5 rather than just showcasing a build someone made 10+ years ago. The game is not the same as it was. Holy Fire scales much better with skills now and +skills gear is actually very good for this build. 2) Is there a reason to use Brand over Demon Machine? Demon machine is faster with 20% IAS and has 66% pierce. 3) A 2-socketed 2 skills rare circlet or a 3-socket 2 skills magic circlet are better than 3-socketed plain circlet. 4) The build is using the Rising Sun thus losing 1 IAS breakpoint as well as not gaining any skills for the cold spec. It is better to use Mara's and get 2 skills on both auras. 5) Carrion wind makes no sense to me over SOJ or BK.

Love that the Bowadin is getting some recognition again. I've been working on mine too and spending hours in the char planner. I wonder why you/they use a Blade bow and not a Great bow? My build is holy fire only, still with upped Kuko, works amazingly for all thats not fire immune. With Brand I hope the higher physical dmg will be able to deal with them. So my plan is having Brand as main weapon, and Kuko on switch for the +50% pierce which can be very important (looking at you maggot lair). Whats also great about the build, you basically need no mana at all as long as the Aura is fueled. For surviveability I use ~10 points in Redemption, works very well and smooth (before Sunder I had Buriza with Redemption on switch) On normal and nightmare, with only 2x angelic rings + amu and a Kuko you will be the king of each p8 game guaranteed, it was insane fun to lvl this guy up. But hell is a bit tough cuz I have close to none -fire resist yet, but that means it makes a great teamplayer. Looking forward for more fun and unorthodox builds x)

Interesting build, but i don't get why it's dual element instead of focusing on only one element and then having something like cta on switch for more survivability. I mean in ladder for pvm with the sunder charms, there is no reason anymore to make multi-element builds. Especially if the needed items are that expensive. But yeah, still interesting.
