Archery and crossbows are a great way to hunt or take out an enemy without making a lot of noise. My grandfather was a kid during the Great Depression and taught us to hunt and fish because that’s what he had to do to survive during that time. He stressed that if you learned bushcraft and could hunt and survive using primitive equipment then everyday when you had access to modern equipment was an easy day. He taught my brother and I how to make fish traps, bows and arrows, stone tools like fish hooks, arrow heads, knifes and hand axes from stone. He taught us how to make game snares, build a fire and shelter using only what we found in nature. He taught us to hunt small game using an atlatl. Life had been hard to him and he was tough on us but he did it to equip us with the skills we would need if things go south.. Now I am passing on the skills he taught me to my daughter.

Greetings from Ecuador. I don't know why this was recommended on my feed, but I am glad it did. It was funny as hell. Good work man.

You never know what you can learn from hanging out with country ass Georgia boys. Our fathers love us so they taught us how to survive, and we teach our children the same. You ain't much of a man if you can't do your part. And where I come from when we say we will be somewhere or that we will do something we do our best to keep our word, unlike a Minnesota man, who's word ain't worth the words coming out his childrens mouths. It seems that Josh has some good friends maybe Josh will learn what being a man is all about. Truth, honesty, keeping your word, and obligations your priorities in life, while having some fun along the way. Keep it up Josh, and keep telling us what you are doing for it sounds fun.

You got me laughing but you aren't wrong really. Drop a white boy off on a wooded island with a pocket knife and you come back a week later to see he built a log cabin, a smoke house full of meat, and he's brewing his own beer.

Josh, Josh... you talk about gun club, you brag about gun club. You do not talk about archery club. Josh, and you only show people if you like them. I have my favorite bow and three dozen arrows in the car. along with hunting tips, spare limbs and two extra strings already setup. There are 3 "retired" bows on my wall, they all work fine, i keep them maintained and take them out as teaching bows. I have just found bow set ups i like better and honestly I am not a fan of compound shooting. I find it boring and mechanical, personally i think it is good for only one thing, hunting. It is important to understand, but i don't find any enjoyment in compound shooting. I have 3 different risers and a half dozen limb sets as well. From different set ups I have used over the years. I have the first bow I made as a kid set in resin as part of my coffee table. We teach em young Josh... civilization is a nice illusion, if the dream ever goes away our kids are ready, enough.

As a country guy who knows a few country people that have become seals....I beg to differ. A country kid with seal training is a force to be weary of.

@TEXAS .PATRIOT -- I applaud your attention to weapons and fighting skills, but really, Seal training is something else. How about we just say that you're both groups of patriots that we're lucky to have, and even if you didn't go through Seal training and Seal missions, you're all near the opposite end of the spectrum from skinny-jeans, basement-dwelling, antifa, urban hipsters.

He cracks me up! And also makes me rethink things I previously considered normal. Like, in my family, kids are taught how to make bows out of cedar trees when their little, then you practice with your bows....it's so much fun and I never thought of this as weird until now. XD
