I’ve had super great luck with Tac vanes. I’m using the driver 2.75’s on my target arrows, and man they’re stable, and forgiving. Give ‘em a go if you haven’t. I like that they are fairly long also. Glad you’re getting stronger after surgery. Take care!

I am a believer that if you pick one and constantly shoot that one you will shoot great over time. Time and practice equals great scores. I will be trying those vanes just because I like trying new things but I don’t think I will be changing.

I’m on the same side as you. Stick with the tools you know and master them. Every once and a while I’ll try something new just to learn something else but I usually go back to what I was using.

The japanese tested easton ace shafts with bullet & streamlined points with gas pro & spin wing vanes in a windtunnel and the findings are pretty much what you concluded. it's an interesting article to read if you don't mind using a dictionary at times. so far for indoor i've used 5" feathers for barebow, i'll definatly have a look into the aae trad vanes with ryan's 284. highest i got at 18m was 251 shooting the skylon brux, going to play around with some x23 next month & see what happens.

Would be good to see how a recurve specific vane such as the AAE WAV or WAV pro vanes compare!

Personally, when I see a compound bow, I can't help wanting to sing What Shall we do with a Drunken Sailor😅😅😅 It is my opinion that one of the most important things to sort out is hand position and angle of grip!

Yo dude. Have you seen the GasPro NACA 200 vanes? They're rubbery and durable, easy to treat like any plastic vane but they're specially shaped to induce spin. Give them a try!

Until you put in the time and practice, very few equipment changes will make you a better archer. I have seen people at my old club with absolute terrible form shooting 2k bows and $300 arrows blaming their equipment when they don't shoot well. At the advice of a pro at my club I spent my first 21 days in archery shooting at blank bales night after night leaning to shoot back tension. Best time I ever spent...it paid dividends in the long run !!

Steven : quick question. Aren't you concerned that your competitors will see what scores you are shooting before the competition? Let's them know how hard they need to work/ practice beforehand no?

We try to just focus on ourselves and our own shooting then compare scores between ourselves in the shop everyday. Keeps us all motivated. Steve would tell you the main person you want to beat is yourself
