When the LIFT's were announced back in November 2023, I immediately took a hard stance against them. The new limbs looked weak, and the new cams were so skeletonized, they also looked weak. The draw cycle loaded up heavily in the front. The limbs looked twisted sitting at brace, all of that. This is coming from a guy who has had the VXR, V3, V3X, Phase 4 - I like Mathew bows. I am also fortunate to own and show most of the flagships each year. This year so far, I have had the Prime RVX6, Hoyt RX-8 Ultra, and Hoyt Alpha X 33. After a few months of thinking the LIFT was sketchy, and being very happy with my Hoyt's, I decided to shoot a 33 at my local shop. Immediately I realized this bow deserved some of my time. I picked up a 33 and shot it for a couple weeks. Bottom line, if you take the time to understand what is going on with this bow and IF your shop knows what is going on - these bows have the potential to be incredible. Liking the LIFT 33 and seeing the potential, I also grabbed a 29.5. My draw length is pushing the boundaries of the 29.5 - but WOW. I actually shoot the 29.5 the best of any bow this year. There is something about the overall configuration of the 29.5 that really works for me. I am glad I kept an open mind and tried these LIFTS out.

Holy $hit man, how much do you spend on bows yearly? Of all those you listed, which is your favorite and why?

@@nateb4543 Haha, it is my hobby and for sure I spend too much, but I could be spending on it way worse stuff! I do trade the bows when I am done with them, and trade values are way down in this current economy so my bow purchasing has slowed down a bit. My favorite bow this year is the Hoyt Alpha X 33 hands down. The draw cycle is premium and the 1/4" draw adjustment on the cams is money! They are quiet, smooth, I get super clean releases, and they are built sturdy/tough/heavy duty.

I had a bit of a rough start with my Lift 33. Took it to a friend of mine that’s a good bow tech to paper tune and check it initially after I got it. We noticed right away that with the top hats that came from the factory the bottom cam had so much lean it was contacting the cable and almost looked like the bow could de-rail from the extreme lean. We put it in a press, swapped top hats and it helped that problem. Then we put the bow in a draw board and the cam sync was probably 3/8” out! Once again we were able to twist the cable to fix it. Point I’m trying to make is it seems like Mathews is sending bows out of the factory to try and meet the high demand without fully ensuring they are set up in the ballpark. I don’t expect them to paper tune there or every bow at a dealer to shoot a bullet hole but for spending $1400 on a bow you shouldn’t have such extreme deviation from normal right after purchasing. If you guys read this and buy a Lift have your shop check these things over before you walk out the door with it!

Bow tech here! Swapping top hats on any new age mathews bow is super common. The aggressive top hats will cause the yolks to rub, but every bow shop will have that in the back of their mind. As for the bow being out of time. Not every bow is going to be perfect out of the box. Strings stretch, and that's why getting your bow tuned and returning everything back to spec is super important every year.

Lucas Mathews didn't always have heavy bows , I owned the Ultra light it weighed 3.5 lbs and I killed a bunch of game with it! Killed my pope and young antelope with it. Always love your reviews!!

Thanks for the review Lucas. I always appreciate your content. Nice bow, but I've gotta disagree with the "dead in hand" feel on the Lift. I bought one based on the specs and owned it for 2 weeks. It's not the same Mathews feel at the shot to me. I'd rather have a V3x or P4 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've had my lift 29.5 for 4 months, have a gas string on it, shot great for first 2 months but now my bottom cam is leaning to left about 10°, still shoots a bullet hole but lost 2 pounds of draw. Has anyone else had cam lean issues

Lucas do you shoot with stabilizer halfway in like that. I was just curious cuz i currently have the 8in bridgelock stab on the front of mine and i have played with it and noticed it balances alot better halfway. Doesnt wanna roll forward as hard

Not normally. I recorded video of me shooting all 8 of the test bows back-to-back. Put one bow down, pick up another and repeat. Just wasn’t paying close attention to the stab when I shot the Lift. And my camera operator (my 12-year-old daughter) said nothing.

You might benefit from a rear stabilizer.

Every limb on my lift has cracked and been replaced once already

How many times have you took it to the shop for a replacement? My bottom left limb splintered for the first time today and I’ve put about 6-800 arrows through it
