“what a cool sensation” holy shit dude you have no idea, I still can’t believe we did this 😅 and with Damian too, I mean, I saw him first in an Ayreon live video and thought “that’s the kind of singer I want to be when I grow up” and somehow a couple of years later he was on my debut album with me. Insane. What incredible voices.

this is one of the most narrative bits of the album…basically the protagonist of the album (my part) has, uh, just died 😅 and he meets the angel..the “yadiyadiya” bit between Dianne and Damian always felt to me very much to musically speak of a journey or motion, and then Damian’s part (quoting largely from Walt Whitman, inspired in turn by Tuomas Holopainen) in my head sort of underscored the arrival in the afterlife he found
