You need to know that you have scammers trying to scam your fans with your name and I think in the future you need to make a video to let your fans know that it’s not you that is scamming them.

He is the reason this mic made waves in the audio industry. That’s why I believe that these new less expensive mics with amazing technology will cost so much years from today.
@damonwicketts1638 Жыл бұрын
Most microphones today are mass produced, so they will likely not have the value mics from the 50s-90s have.

For earth song, Bruce said he recorded Michael on a Neumann 47 and asked him to sing as close as possible to the mic 🤣 ✌️
@archiebeatz2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Bruce switched up and I love how he says "I have no secrets, I will give you all every piece of information that you ask me for." Not only was Bruce a great engineer but he always gave back. Thank you for coming by Alexandre.

The SM7 and SM7B sound totally different. The SM7 has a way more clean and detailed top end. I think it sounds infinity better. Not to mention MJ was so damed talented he could sound godly through a walky talky if he wanted to.

Great video. I seen videos of MJ recording on Neumann m149. I read some article for his last album he recorded on the Sony C800g.

Crazy how 7k is such a doable vocal chain.

People really forget 80% of what makes a vocal sound good is eq even if your vocal is recorded in top notch gear also the mix surrounding the vocal if your not making space in mix it’s also gonna sound ass even if the vocal itself is cleaned up

I could have been lied to by a friend of one his engineer’s I met at musicians institute or he was lied to, but him and a few others said the sm7 was ONLY for Billie Jean and one other song on thriller but not the song thriller. For the of the songs he used a 251 (Bruce did have multiple of them). The idea to try the sm7 was tried to further encapsulate the almost speaking or direct confessional delivery of Billie Jean and how much space that mix had compared to the other “dance” tunes on the album. From then on he almost exclusively used 251s and Sony c800gs from the late 90s on. I can’t currently find any articles to back this up (anymore) but you can kind of hear the differences between thriller songs and how there was for sure different mics used) either way it doesn’t really matter so much since we aren’t recording Michael and can’t even if he wanted to

Looks like you know a bit. In this video he mentions the chains of tools used either the microphone. Do you know the rest used either the 251? I need that setup structure. Hope you get to see this! Thank you!

I got the SM7b because I heard MJ used it. I don't have anything like his quality of voice, but we have similar tones. And I've found that my 67 just makes my voice sound a bit too harsh.
@patrickjudson3 ай бұрын
Yes, it is not the same at all and the fact that people are still comparing these two things is misinformation. The SM7B is like sandpaper on metal. Very harsh.

Can you make a video on Avalon 737 plugin. The settings you use and good settings for rap vocals
@archiebeatz2 жыл бұрын
What's up Brandon? I can definitely do that type of video but the settings will be slightly different depending on the rapper. It changes with every person but we can do a ballpark swing for sure.

@@archiebeatz Nice thanks! Just a good starting point for the people. Rappers and Singers. I looked online and there's really nothing on it. So you'll basically be the first and only person to do it

Not the grandfather. Just the father of the mic. The SM7 would be the grandfather of the SM7 DB.

Here’s the context 😂 The gear is only the secret sauce to the vocal, the meat has to be there standing in front of the mic first… the vocal chain isn’t going to cover up the meat… but, if the meats just perfect then that secret sauce is going to take that eye rolling to next level
@TigroGumi Жыл бұрын
The voice has to do the chain justice and vice versa

SM7 != SM7B. The SM7B sounds like sandpaper on metal, too harsh and brittle, nothing like the SM7. People need to quit doing this ridiculous reference and comparison. Most people hear this and they run to get their SM7B and think they are going to get MJ sound. I hate to be the one to tell you this. Not going to happen.
@gthevigilant_1811Ай бұрын
Archie definitely said they do sound different from each other. It's possible to find SM7's from the 70's and 80's on Reverb for around $800-$1200.
