Hiram Bullock, a class act of the highest order, I saw him with his band performing in the 90s. Awesome guitarists and singer, and, like Don Rickles himself, Hiram Bullock was a genuinely nice and funny man in his own right. R.I.P. both of them legends. Thank you very much for posting.

Don Rickles was the best. Saw him at the Stardust in either 07 or 08. During his routine he sat right next to my wife, looked at me and said, "The pictures are that bad"? One of the highlights of my life.

One of the most compelling inteviews of all time. One of my fav Don Rickles moments ever and also see Lettermans face at the end when Don should genuine interest in Daves success and longevity. This my friends in my opnion was Don is rare perfection mode. I mean hes always 99% but this was start to finish sharp and his brain firing furiously on all cylinders. Really special. Loved it.

To see Dave with Don in '83 and all the way up to 2013 he had total love and respect for the man he just sat back and let Don rip in to him better times. At the tribute to Don at the Apollo when Dave comes on at the end Don lit up like a firefly 2 beautiful men real men RIP Mr.Warmth

I sure miss Rickles. And Dave. Rickles lashes out at a black guy in the band and you think "Whoa, that's racist.." then he turns to Letterman and eviscerates him ten-fold with an equally funny brutality and you think "Whoa, the black guy got off easy." Rickles was a machine gun spraying insults every which way. But the truth is Rickles was one of the kindest people in show business.

I just remember seeing those roasts and every once in a while there were negative ohh, and aw's and disgruntled sounds but the people he was ribbing were laughing but at times you could tell it was a fake laugh.

I had those two comic books that Dave showed. It was a two-part story concerning a Rickles lookalike named Goody Rickels. Don himself only appears in the second book. The title was called "...the New Jimmy Olsen" because Jack Kirby took it over upon returning to DC.
