3:14 -- Dave Tebet used to be the Vice President of Talent Relations at NBC, and according to legend, every Christmas he would give out hundreds of TV sets (and other gifts) to actors and hosts who worked for NBC (and perhaps others who worked for other networks to try to lure them to NBC). He is credited for convincing NBC to hire Johnny Carson. When Johnny was granted ownership of The Tonight Show and formed his own production company to run the show, Tebet left NBC to work for Johnny Carson Productions, which also produced Late Night with David Letterman.

@tommyriam8320 Жыл бұрын
"plates" plural, with an "s" Even without Rickles playing it out for you, it's clearly a well-worn, reference to the classic show-biz, circus/carnival, vaudeville, talent/variety show act where the line-up of performers was sure to include jugglers, fire-eaters, and some guy or "gal" *spinning plates on sticks* . The image or the mere notion, for that matter, of someone with the stature of Sinatra banging some broad or even "the wife" while simultaneously managing to keep the plates spinning as if his sex sessions were this unconventional _is the joke_ 9:18

Years after, Sinatra backed Reagan because he never forgot what Kennedy did to him. Politics suck, full of scum betrayals I am a conservative and I will die a conservative but now I've learnt.
