This is the archetypal Architects track. Has everything, beyond brilliant.

the guitar playing on its own is unique, the lyrics actually tell something different from others, the dude can fucking scream and the drummer doesn't do what every drummer does plus this song is sick as hell ! i dig it man.

We've found a taste for self-destruction A blind eye for blatant dysfunction We've found a taste for self-destruction We're all born in black blood There's an imminence stirring like a siren singing There's a debt to pay but they keep on drilling Why is simple truth so hard to tell We had eden and turned it into hell Born in black blood Because this distance in our minds Is the distance that we're behind I can't forgive, we won't forget I can't forgive, we won't forget The lonely sound of the final drip Like the starting gun marking the end of it On the shoulders of forever It's a long way to fall Black gold will be the death The death of us all Black drought, word will spread Of the time we found what the earth bled Born in black blood Because this distance in our minds Is the distance that we're behind I can't forgive, we won't forget I can't forgive, we won't forget [x2] Black drought, word will spread Of the time we found what the earth bled We found the cancer inside of our heads There's no turning back now We're as good as dead When the well dried up no one cared But when hell shows up, they'll all stop and stare [x2] We've found the cancer inside of our heads No turning back now We're as good as dead [x2] I can't forgive, we won't forget [x4] We won't forget

More than how great their great music sounds, the message Architects bring with their songs is trully amazing. Bands like them contribute to another kind of conscience, to trully understand why we exist and how we can harm each other. This is brilliance in its pure state.

I must admit I feel a bit like a hypocrite... I have studied for many years, and can now officially call myself a Petroleum Engineer. I work in the oil industry, and make all my money of of it... But I have been listening to Architects permanently along the way of this educational journey and I really enjoy their music, and many of their songs! Especially the lyrics! You see, the thing is that even though a lot of the song are kinda "environmentally expressive" and that is one of the things Architects really stand for, these lyrics can relate to so much more! Just dig a little deeper and I find myself again and again inside their lyrics, on a deeper personal level that is! I guess a lot of you will absolutely not agree with me, and call me a hypocrite, but I wouldn't put it that way! Architects are more than an awesome band with awesome songs/lyrics! They give people strength and motivation, when nothing else seem to push you further! And for that, they are my favorite band and will probably always be...! Ironic isn't it, but very true! As of the "LF//LT album" - Gravedigger, Naysayer and Youth is wasted on the Young are my absolute favorites, so if you don't understand what I am trying to tell you with the text above, listen to those songs and read their lyrics ! Then you might change your mind. Can't wait to see them Live in Concert - 22.March - Oslo Norway!
@philsmith836710 жыл бұрын
I have to say I am in a similar situation. I have always wanted to be a structural geologist involved in petroleum work and i have succeeded in doing that but i have listened to Architects since the ruin album and i have never felt like a hypocrite. They just uplift me, even with songs such as black blood where i should feel guilty. Most people don't understand the work that we do and could easily turn around and call us hypocrites but that would be missing the point of the song and their message. Anyway, i just wanted to share, love what i do. Love Architects too. Have fun on the 22nd March. I see them tomorrow in Manchester. Take it easy

Phil Smith Thats cool mate! Was they amazing ? What songs were palyed from the new album ? :-)
@kaszilla10 жыл бұрын
i cant relate to any of that, im just a student on his way to becoming an engineer, but i aint gonna call you a hypocrite just because you work in the thing this song is an anti off, people who do call you a hypocrite, well lets put it this way, we all are a bunch of hypocrites, we all listen to these kind of songs and we just say 'yes thats so true' but in the end we do nothing with it, we just go on with our lives, slaves till we die bound by our duty to work, as long as you dont become one of the greedy ones suffering from his need to want more, because thatll make you blind and one of the contributer of the downfall of us all, the reason its called blackblood is because people die everyday for oil .... oil means money, money will atract greedy ones, greedy ones will go over corpses to gain what they want more but allready have.... the thing ive been thinking about alot lately is that ... what if we were simply a parasite on this planet ? i mean we grew big surviving of the resources of the earth and now we are draining and destroying them, thats what a parasite does right ? ... but yeah, point of this text is that we all are hyporcites pointing our fingers at all the things that are wrong but then go on and pay for the end product, oh and if you like these kind of lyrics you should check out enter shikari and rise against, enter shikari is more technocore (try destabilize, radiate and i really like system meltdown) and rise against is more punkish, (try survivors guilt, hero of war and i really like prayer of the refugee)
@MFosse90Official10 жыл бұрын

Architects❤️

Why is it so hard for humanity to unite? If we all came together, the hell wouldn't show up, instead we could create heaven on earth for everyone in this reality that we know exists. Instead of them trying to feed people a hope of a heaven so that they accept the shit reality that they are all living. One day, we will get there.
