Sam said in a interview that "fans" sent him and Dan messages like "Tom would never had approved of this soft crap" on the release of their last album, so this is a well deserved F you to all those people that did that.
@FormaAlert11 ай бұрын
they also just straight up sent death threats... over a song lmao

Though I agree that it is ridiculous that fans said that... apart from the lyrics calling fans out, the fans that wanted heavy, got the heavy. So its not really a "big shot" at the fans. They got what they wanted didnt they!?

it is just funny because alot of them will be too busy headbanging "architects are heavy again" that they won't realise it is about them @@bellvillebones

If you take a look at the lyrics, you'll see that this a massive fu** U to all the fans that sent them hate messages about their last two albums. They had to face a lot of criticism and not one very contructive. Plus all the idiots brought back Tom and what he would have said about those albums ("Tom would be so ashamed", etc etc) So I think it's kind of a "You wanted us to be angry ? There, you have it. Now shut the fu** up, we're gonna do it the way we want". A one shot of some sort.

The irony being them pandering to their haters trying to be clever is better than any of the mundane arena rock on their last album. It was never about being "heavy" or not, we just wanted good songs.
@xluckyjpx334811 ай бұрын
@@XAVR_ Bro, wtf... People sent them >death threats< over a simple music album. With the amout of bands out there, the "fix" to thoose problems are as simple as just trying to find another band/music on spotify or wherever else. Art is not a straigth exact thing. There's no such a thing as bad or good songs. There's only songs that you like and songs that you do not. The fact that people can't stand hearing something they don't like without getting crazy about it... It really says a lot about the society we are living in nowadays... U guys need to touch grass ASAP 💀
@XAVR_11 ай бұрын
@@xluckyjpx3348 anyone sending them death threats and acting malicious is obviously a horrible person, but the actions of a few idiots alongside a great personal tragedy does not make the band exempt from criticism. Music is of course subjective, but the complexity of music and lyrics is not, and anyone who knows about either can tell you that both dropped considerably on the last album.
@robdurfee686111 ай бұрын
@@XAVR_nah, that’s subjective as well, but even if that’s true, it’s their art and their songs, they have the right to make whatever they want. Seems like you want Lost Forever and All Our Gods over and over when they obviously aren’t the same people

@@robdurfee6861 I've already stated, in my first comment, that I don't want them to make the same music over and over. Some of my favourite bands are a lot less "heavy" than recent Architects music, but I've just found their last album especially uninspired and bland. There were no real stand out moments or interesting musical "things" happening, all the musicians seemed to just be going though the motions on each track, and Sam using the same few vocal riffs over and over again (in fact in the new song he does it again with the "what I belieeeEEEEeeve" at the end of the chorus, using the same little riff that he did in almost every chorus on the last album, the thing that Oli Sykes did on about 4 songs on Sempiternal a decade ago ("we speak in toOOOOoongues" on Crooked Young for example) Music theory isn't subjective, their music is compositionally less complex than it used to be, and that's fine if some people like it, but I don't find it interesting and I'm entitled to my opinion and to voice that opinion as a consumer of their art. No disrespect to the band, I just really don't find what they were doing on the last album interesting. I believe a lot of fans felt the same way, but some of them were just unable to express that without resorting to baseless personal attacks, which is super lame.

Absolute fuckin banger. I am someone who liked those that wish to exist but really didn't like the newest album (obv love all their old shit). This song is like the perfect culmination of their signature sound, i love it so much. The lows on this one are so killer.

Personally it is the only album from them that i really didn't like any of the songs (besides when we were young maybe), but i just listen to the other albums that i all love instead of bitching online. Those that wish to exist was also really hated when it came out, but i had that shit on repeat for like a month. Obv the newer stuff was a bit different but architects gets such an unrivaled amount of hate in the metal scene its actually crazy.

This entire song is a middle finger to the fans that harass them about how they are progressing as a band. The Blegh demands being one of the things Sam gets annoyed with. "Read me all my rights! I'll never get tired of your great advice. Won't somebody tell me what I believe?" is such a snarky lyric like, "oh yep, please tell me how to create my art." I love it.

I love the lyrics, I love the sarcasm, I love there is a sarcastic blegh, I love the fact that the haters will hate more now since they can't take the lyrics. Architects fans are almost as bad as Bad Omens fans. They should listen to their old stuff or f... 2010 core if that is the era they live in. I actually hope Architects quit now with this f.. you. We have no right to hate bands, criticism yes. To what they go trough should be punishable.
