Hey Allen, I was interested in procuring one of these mod kits… thought to my dismay I discovered theyre not available anymore. Is there anywhere I could look to get started building one? Schematics, tutorials, anything..? I think this mod is a really cool idea! Great video !

🤔 so is the switching power supply (SNP-9031) for MPC 1000 needed for this to work? Meaning my MPC accidently used phantom power and now it cuts on and off. Is it better to get this to convert it to wireless?

Really cool. And great timing too as I'm currently looking for a portable power solution for my MPC-1000. Mine has the XLCD from mpcstuff installed and an 80GB HDD, how much battery life you think I can expect to get from a full charge with this?

it'll be difficult to give you an accurate estimate without knowing the power consumption of the XLCD. but i imagine it wouldnt be a big difference from the regular LCD. The HDD is usually rated around 5V .5A. So that would add close to 3W of power consumption at peak.. i'm not sure what it consumes when idle. Also, all of this depends on the capacity of the battery pack you build. I imagine with your setup, you should be able to get more than 6 hours with a 6200mAh 4S2P battery pack.

there's a separate kit for that! check out the Basic Kit on modularsound.io, there's also a Boosted Kit (MPC1000 only), which can use a 12V, 3A power source.

hi, I have a question: I own the MPC 1000 which has footswitch jack that I use to control 'stop' and 'play'. recently, I got the MPC One which does not have footswitch jack. the question is: can you add/install footswitch jack on the MPC one to control 'stop' and 'play' like on the MPC 1000?

hey! as far as i know... the mpc one/live/x utilize midi to accomodate footswitch control.. so its really about using midi via some sort of interface. Technically, its possible considering you have the option of using midi via usb or din ports. It's just that traditional footswitches couldn't be hardwired to work on their own. However, you can make it appear like its built-in, but only through the use of a midi interface connected internally.

Will the 2000XL kit work with the MPC2000 classic ? - lots of similarity going on with the two units and I would like to battery power mine!

all i know is that the 2000,2KXL, and 2500 use the same power supply... that being said. it is technically possible to make a portable 2000. the only reason why there isnt a kit for the 2000 is because... i dont have a 2000. hahah. but if i had my hands on one, i'd definitely be able to make some proper mounts for it. it also seems like there's a whole lot of room in there. you would probably be able to get away with using Scotch VHB tape to mount everything inside.

@@soundmod.io. Yeah. Out of interest does the power supply provide 5v and 12v etc from any point on the circuit board? Would be useful for any internal later mods.

not one that i will assemble myself to sell. but i am hoping to find a compatible battery pack from a reputable supplier in the future. battery regulations can be tricky and strict thats why the advanced kit is part DIY for now.
