@@metaldrummersonly4402They are amazing in both personality and their sheer talent. Archspire were just about to release "Lucid Collective Somnambulation" and were co headling with Beyond Creation, who I was already a fan of, as that promoter friend and I knew Forest from opening for shows for Quo Vadis and Augury when we were in a band together in the early 2000's and Forest was in those two bands. The Archspire guys crashed at my place after the show! They were so appreciative at the time, but they never remember me whenever I talk to them after a show these days! Considering how little I remember about people I meet even a month ago, I can't blame them! They just keep getting better. I loved Judson’s face when the guttural came in, but loved the Heart Shaped Box cover even more! Slowing it down made it much more melancholy. Would like to hear Judson’s interpretation of “Something I Can Never Have” by NIN. 🤘
@chiralsymmetry699710 ай бұрын
Honestly, Judson is really on point with his comparison to opera singers actually singing in a different language. Guttural vocals are honestly kind of their own language in music. Once you hear enough bands that use the various techniques of producing harsher vocals, you start to pick up on the patterns of each variation, and then hearing a new band that uses a style you've heard one-hundred times, you can much more easily pick out exactly what they're saying. That aside, great pick for introducing Judson to more technical stuff. This song is easily my favorite track on the album, because it has so much overt groove, but mingles it seamlessly with Archspire's aggressive and technical compositional style.

One of the best comments I’ve heard on how to listen to these is “just consider the vocals an instrument”. Once you realize that, it all changes
@The_KlaVra10 ай бұрын
Two things, that Heart Shaped Box cover, BEAUTIFUL. Second, he didnt seem to dislike it cant wait to see him react to AUM specially that sample at the beginning also cant wait to see how he reacts to Vulvodynia, also sad that Vulvodynia lost their main vocalist due to stuff but cant wait to see what they come up with up next. In the topic of the lyrics, what I found is: "Lyrically, the album tells the story of a world where humans have started giving birth to creatures called the Boanet. Vocalist Oli Peters discussed the album’s concept with their record label Season of Mist: I thought about what if those things they were giving birth to could actually benefit them in the future so they wouldn’t want to reject them. What would happen to the humans that weren’t born? Would they go to a different dimension? I played with that whole idea because I hadn’t seen a horror movie where that was the theme. It worked for all the songs. The only social commentary is that people don’t know what they’re giving birth to - if you put someone on this planet, you don’t know whether they’re going to be good or evil. Bleed the Future also shares some thematic elements with Archspire’s previous album, particularly in the first and last tracks. “Drone Corpse Aviator” directly parallels Relentless Mutation, focusing on the flying mutant corpses described in songs “Human Murmuration,” and “Calamus Will Animate.” Additionally, the album’s final track mentions two of the main subjects of Relentless Mutation: a cult-like group known as A.U.M. and a mysterious black substance called The Drip. The A.U.M. is also referred to in “Golden Mouth of Ruin.”
