I'm relatively new to AM. I've only been listening to them since about the end of 2018. How they never got on my radar is beyond me. I am now a HUGE fan of theirs. I mean.... I've POURED over their albums, obsessively. I've come away with two things: 1. Alex Turner is a ROCK STAR in the true sense of the word. Almost a throwback to the great wave of British bands of the late 60's and 70's. Amazing vocalist, stage presence and he has a keen sense for a musical hook. 2. He is easily on of the best songwriters and lyrisist of his generation of musicians. I can't think of anyone that paints a more vivid picture in his writing or understands the power a poetic metaphor more than him. Even his side projects are amazing. One of my all time favorite songs is " My Mistakes Were Made For You". That song just fires on all cylinders. Absolute genius songwriting.

33:05 - 33:15 must be "It's Hard to Get Around the Wind". most favourite track of submarine, in my top ten of alex's output ever produced. one of the main reason was the guitar picking, aside from beautiful melodies and lyrics, that made me pick up guitar and learn how to guitar pick that way and it changed my life guitar-playing wise, and i am just a casual guitar playing bloke haha, so Mr. Schwartz is the most standout track for me this album almost only because of that, along with the mysterious moog-powered sound of Sculptures.

The memory of seeing Zane and Alex on the GONZO couch chatting away a good 16 years ago and now look at them. Makes me feel old but beautifully nostalgic.

Watching this WHILE the album is out in one minute, I am so ready! Alex' voice is sooo soothing and what an amazing job Zane is doing getting him excited and interested. Such a good interview. Can't wait to see them live again.
