Its kinda like when people ask David Lynch what his films are about. He refused to ever say because art can be interpreted in various ways, affecting everyone differently. And the mysteriousness of it is why its so intriguing. I’m sure Alex could give out a line by line interpretation of every song. And we would all love to see that, but that takes away from the art itself

You could tell he was somewhat surprised at some of the inventive things you were asking, and that in turn made his answers more engaging. Great work- I’m also a big fan of your work with Kid Kapichi, I interviewed them myself in April so it’s so cool to see you doing the same on Radio 1, MTV etc ❤️

TBHC is a true grower , it started with liking few of the song but once i tried to listened them all couple time i loved it and i had to listened from start to finished , i cant listened on shuffle, it feels weird But "The Car" is totally off the rails after couples days i cant even like one single of the song yet let alone listened all the song from start to finish in one sitting, maybe try to listen more ?

I've only become their fan this year and I don't know if it makes sense but it's almost like they were having an out of body experience when they came up with tranquility but when the car came out, it was like they had come back to their senses but with a new perspective and a profound understanding. And I think that's why the car sounds a lot like tranquility but at the same time it reminds you of their older stuff. Anyway, they are geniuses and I love them

It’s true. Usually Matt is there to be the diplomat if things get difficult for Alex, to bridge the silences or answer the daftest questions. Alex seems to be trying too hard as well. I think it’s because Jack Saunders is tense and his questions are too direct and prying. The suggestion that the video represents isolation and loneliness, followed by the question about relations within the band is clunky and awkward. He should have just asked whether they ever fall out, allowing them to set the tone for their response. And he is embarrassed to ask if they love each other; he’s almost squirming. In contrast Matt’s affirmative response is straightforward and allows them to move on.

Probably people would say that they are not original and are repetitive. Kinda sad because even though I liked TBHAC this new record isn’t really very good, and Matt Helders completely goes to waste. It would have broken up the flow a bit more to have another rock record in there and honestly I think the album would have turned out better if they had gone more in the direction they initially wanted to take

Then there’s this interview - brilliant work by Jack here, Alex and Matt looked really impressed and interested his questions.
