The snow acts as a REFLECTION to what little sun there is, making it extremely BRIGHT. It's how you get sunburnt so easily in the snow.

it is amazing to think that even losing a glove can cause life threatening situations!!!

There's somehting I don't understand: he's above the Arctic Cirle and there's so much sunlight! I thought there's no sunlight abover the Circle between late November and late February. Can someone explain what's going on here?

He is very close to the Arctic cirlce. you will get sunlight there even in January, even if it is just 2.30hrs. a the winter solstice you get about 2 hrs of sunlight. Even with the sun low in the sky it can still be very bright, the snow will exacerbate this.

I live next door in Saskatchewan man and its very seldom in history been -50 nevermind -60 (not counting windchill factor of course). It may work for a while but your battery would drain FAST!

@UkStreetrat IT IS VERY WELL SUPPLIED WITH BLOOD...FOOT TOE IS MOST FREQUENTLY MET WITH FROST BITE B'COZ IT IS LOCATED FAR AWAY FROM HEART...AND IN COLD CLIMATE BLOOD PRESSURE DECREASES MUCH ENOUGH TO CAUSE FROST BITE OF FEET..
