The Arden pants were a win for me too. I like that the amount of ease is included in the pattern instructions. With that in mind it was easier to pick my size. I hacked mine into shorts and lived in them this summer when it was really hot. There are instructions on how to do the hack in the Helen’s Closet blog. Thank you for the fabric suggestions. I need to make a warmer pair for the cooler months and you gave me some great inspiration.

I love the top and the fabric is gorgeous! . I’ve made a couple of pairs of straight legged Ardens in linen for the summer and have two more cut out in cotton twill for autumn/winter! They are a super pant! I did however find they came out a little bit on the large size (I needed to size down after making a muslin)! I so agree re Helens Closet patterns - I have all of them and have made most!

I made some of these pants in a lightweight cotton with the straight leg and my daughter immediately asked me to make her a pair. She wanted the cuffed leg and I bought some cuffs as I couldn't find the thick elastic. The deep pockets are a feature I love - didn't have quite enough fabric and cut the pockets on the cross grain which was fine.

The pants look great! Can you tell me did your fabric have stretch in it? I just made the suki robe from helens closet out of linen. I did find it a lot of work for a robe 😅

No my pants don't have stretch but I think a tiny bit of stretch would work great! The Suki robe was a fairly involved make but such a nice result in the end! xx
