Ardenn + Toggo | Equipments-Matter - The Brewery [S05E05]

Greetings, everyone! Welcome to The Commander Tavern! I am Demented Kirby and this is the 5th episode of the 5th season of one of the series on this channel, The Brewery. This series is all about brewing and deck techs - hopefully showcasing the spiciest of brews!

I have seen Toggo in the latest Game Knights and immediately started thinking about who to Partner hin with. Ardenn seems like a pretty solid choice and I really liked this deck tech! Thank you very much :)

Thanks! Glad it was helpful! Kodama is actually a very strong partner for Toggo and I think JLK was just bluffing and downplaying his deck. With Kodama on the battlefield, every time a land triggers Toggo and creates a rock token, you can use Kodama to put another land onto the battlefield from your hand. In fact, Kodama lets you play multiple lands this way. Kodama is pretty broken. But I went with Ardenn because the synergy was too good to pass up. As I said in the video, I was originally building Wyleth but when testing out the deck, once I had Ardenn and Toggo out I saw way more potential in that than just another RW equipment/voltron commander deck. So I decided to go with something a bit different and swapped them around instead.

Thanks for your response! I think you have done a pretty good job here. Will try it out with a few changes regarding the fast rocks and a few single other cards. Really looking fortward to it.

@@paulball2137 Sounds great! As I mentioned, you don't really need the fast mana for the deck to go off since both Toggo and Ardenn are cheap commanders to cast. I suggest them because I have them and many other players do as well. But you can still swap them out for Arcane Signet, Boros Signet, Talisman of Conviction, and Fellwar Stone instead of Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Mox Opal, and Jeweled Lotus and the deck will still perform well. Glad Boros is getting more card advantage and ramp. I really wish Keeper of the Accord was 3 mana instead of 4. It would make a difference. Anyway love the deck!

Thanks! Glad you liked it! Admittedly red/white decks have a hard time keeping up with other decks so it's great to have a good card every now and again give it an edge. However, my favorite way of catching up to other decks is by slowing them down to our level. Never underestimate how hate and stax can "accelerate" us by slowing down everyone else ;)

Missed synergy with helm and arden. you can attach helm to opponents best monster, helm is busted

Yup! You can always do that. The real shame of Ardenn + Whoever decks is having Solaflora, Intergalactic Icon be illegal in commander :(
