Great video, Becky! And thanks for the #MakerUpdate shout-out! 🛠 As someone who grew up with Maker Faire Bay Area and the Burning Man scene, I always took for granted the overlap between Arduino, engineering, and creative expression. That overlap is still the sweet spot for me, and over the years it's been great to see that formula branch out into communities like prop making, cosplay, immersive art experiences like Meow Wolf, and KZbin in general. Thanks for putting Arduino in context for creative people who might otherwise be intimidated by the world of engineering and electronics, and giving everyone permission to play with these tools.

Aww thanks Donald! Now that you mention it, I really should have included some b-roll from Meow Wolf... dang it! I'mma send you my draft next time I have an episode like this coming up. 😁

as well as elevating an artistic piece I've found the Arduino has been fantastic for making a practical project look prettier. There's always space for an addressable LED! I love these videos, and always watch Maker Update, I've lost count of the number of times I almost gave up on a project, but the inspirational and passion in those projects help me get my backside into gear and work on my things.

We used an Arduino to enhance a steampunk prop Someone else made it with simple flashing lights and a plasma disk. I was asked to animate it, so we used an Arduino to make an oscillating scanner dish (made out of a brass spoon) and a red blinking light that flashed faster and faster (it was a "aether scope"). Your videos on using switches to send a signal to a micro controller was vital, and your video explaining how to use tinker cad to test code and circuits saved hours of time !

Nice. Thanks Becky. I got into Arduino because I wanted to make a Harry Potter invisibility cloak. Still a work in progress.
