Dear Uncle Bumblefuck, My pretty girlfriend (who valiantly sits through watching your videos with me) finally looked up from her phone for the grand task of proclaiming "Honey Hes doing it wrong" she is actually a machine operator for an injection molding company and has informed me that.... At 3:28 the red part your finger is pointing at is actually molded first separately and then snapped into the empty mold for the green part. probably made on a different line before hand. Nice that she got one lol. Thanks from a night shift maintenance guy that has learned a couple cool tricks from you.

Steinel Neo 3 is where its at with cordless glue guns. Uses LiPos and works awesome. I've had mine for now almost 4 years, still chooches like the first day.
@etelmo6 жыл бұрын
I'm using an older Neo1, no idea how long I've had it (years and years). Works really well once it's going however it's warm up is a longer than a wall unit. The upside is it's portable. Edit: Just opened it up, it's close enough in design that I would say it was probably designed by the same company, Steinel copyright numbers stenciled on the board under the battery. It uses a single Samsung 18650, however it's rated at 23A draw current (M letter code) while the cell in the Bosch appears to be 18A (Q code), no idea if that would make much of a difference or I'm just remembering the letter code incorrectly.
@Criticalcore6 жыл бұрын
Any particular glue you could recommend? Been after a small glue gun or more so a handy one and these look perfect for casual use, might actually bite the bullet on one now.
@Nacman34g6 жыл бұрын
It's the same thing. I saw another tear down of the this pen and on the back of the board it actually says Steinel on it. www.electrobob.com/bosch-glue-pen-teardown/
@etelmo6 жыл бұрын
Out of interest due to the differing current ratings of the batteries used I opened my Neo1 up again and put a current clamp on the battery connection. From a 20c cold start it pulls slightly over 7A which would be around 24-30w depending on battery charge, over 10 seconds the current falls to around 3A and over a further 5 seconds falls further to 2.5A. 2.5A would appear to be it's idle current draw in a 20c room which equates to around 10w, however the case was open allowing airflow and thus some cooling so real world numbers may be slightly lower. Once heated to a steady state a glue stick was pushed into it with some force (an inch of glue stick in 3 seconds) causing the current to briefly spike up to 4.5A, this fell back to 3A in under a second once glue stopped being forced into it. Given the current draw seen in my testing I wouldn't expect there to be any difference in performance between 23A and 18A rated batteries, and there should be an easy run time bonus by substituting an INR18650-30Q which has double the capacity while still being rated for 15A continuous draw. Regardless I am happy with my glue stick as it currently performs given it's small size/weight, I find that as things get larger and heavier it becomes easier and easier to rationalize not carrying them in a grab bag and leaving them behind.

Maybe the reason for the blob instead of steady flow, would be the no thermal mass (as you compared to kryobie) no thermal mass. Meaning the hot bit is so small when hit the trigger it has to get the next bit of glue hot before it can release what's in the chamber. My wall plug glue gun the whole dam thing is hot, preheating the glue before it's in the tip and just the tip mind.
@rookwiet8956 жыл бұрын
Nah, it's the pump mechanism. It only pushes the stick forward in the last couple of mm of the downstroke. You can control it, but you have to be really precise ... and not wildlarize it and/or improperly assemble it.

EU spec charger will very likely work perfectly off of the wimpy 110VAC USA/Canukistan power, as pretty much every one with any real type approval ( and Robert Bosch will have all those marks ticked off correctly and not have the China export symbol only for show) is capable of multivolt operation from 90VAC to 265VAC, because that is what you get in the EU in most cases, and they are a worldwide brand, they do not want to have regionalised power bricks in most cases.

Good for sticking in a backpack/bike box when traveling due to the smaller bulk/weight. I imagine the USB port means you could plug an auxiliary power source in to keep it running or charge it off a solar panel meant for phones. The lone 18650 also means that when the battery gives up the ghost (or if you find this thing cheap up for sale as NFG)in a couple years you can just replace it with a new one like +Brad Sparks said. My only concern is really that it doesn't seem to have that great impact resistance if AvE was able to bust it that easily while it was in the box. Not sure if it would survive an impact that would break whatever you need to hot glue.

As for 220/230/240V, it wasn't necessarily changed, just the spec was. In some parts of Europe there was 230, other parts 220, in the UK 240. In the name of European harmonisation, they specified everyone had to have 230. But they gave the tolerance such that it encompassed both the 220 and 240V systems, so no one had to actually change their voltage.

Does anyone else cringe at how he opens packages but could care less about how he takes everything completely apart?
@lolotube1006 жыл бұрын
Or enjoy watching him take it apart I should say
@Diggnuts6 жыл бұрын
Now I am completely unsure how much you actually care for how he takes everything completely apart... Do you care a lot, Half or the minimum amount before you reach none at all?
@ballsrawls6 жыл бұрын
Don't forget about the complete disrespect that he continually shows to the directions!

I like the creative but effective ways of opening packages. This one.. was satisfying that he had to fix it after.

I love watching him take stuff apart. I just don't like him saying it's a crappy design afterwards.

I got that thing and it’s awesome. Heats up in 10-15 sec. And you can easily dose the glue.

When something gets chooched up, you can always just chooch it a little and get it choochin’. Brilliant.

I love the fact that for all the cursing in your videos, the one time I see you actually skewer yourself, not a word of profanity was uttered.

Surprised you didn't put a link to the review of ryobi's gluegun in the description. Making me search for it like I've got three minutes to waste.

I've had one of these for just over 2 years and use it once or twice a week. It hasn't broken yet but the battery dosen't last long and can't be charged while in use. I mainly use it for architectual models so have to keep it pluged in between uses as it lasts less than one hour on a full charge. Not sure if it was the temp of your workshop or the fact that there was no glue in the barrel on start up but mine usaly only takes 30-60 seconds to heat up.

i actually own one of these. and i use it often when i work on car electrics and its great for getting into tight spaces and being small and wireless... i have it for about a year now.... had no problems with is and i use it about twice a week and the handle isnt sticky on my sample.... love the "shipping damage"

What were you gluing on at the end ? Looks like a good time!

Dude someone seriously needs to pay you some good Dosh for doing the voice over to some whimsical character in a video game or something. Too funny! 🤣

I bought Bosch's pistol grip version last month, and so far so good with lo-temp 7mm sticks.

it my 12 years as a machine operator in a packaging and box factory. I find it amazing how many industrial glues there are. hot melt, pva and others I have no clue what they were.

That's some interesting "arts and crafts" you got going on at the end. I'm also sure it's no co-incidence the appearance of cooled hot-glue shmoo.

Serious question here, so I used to work with 18650 batteries every day at a vape shop but what are the differences between consumer 18650's and tool grade 18650's?

If you measure the resistance of the PTC (not PCT), you can do closed loop control of the temperature.
@stephenledford38086 жыл бұрын
Ave.... were you using high temp glue sticks? I'd imagine the bosh takes low temp sticks, that would explain the blobs and not getting 6 sticks out of it.

You use the imperial system but I noticed you measure weight/mass in grams, do you prefer it to pounds/ounces?
