Not at all. It is the UK DFT, and Vienna Convention For International Traffic that are the organisations that make you legal.

Leigh, I have just had my Hyundi i10 changed to an i20, using the original A frame and Invisibrake equipment, what would be the maximum towing weight of the A frame, now 14 months old, and how often should the A frame be checked for reliability, who should check it ? I still have not found an insurance company to insure the equipment, have you found one yet ? York tow bars did the conversion, and apart from the Swift Motorhome Towbar wiring all when well.

Hi Colin, The Towmaster2 is rated to pull 1700Kg and the i20 is well under that. You should have annual safety inspections by either us or the fitting centre, they just need to see the car and Towmaster. You can contact Martyn Raybould Sheild Insurance on 07720096301 Regards Leigh
