Hello! Ive been looking into getting sugar gliders for a while now. My wife and me just bought a house, so we will now be having way more room for things like sugar gliders. My question is, why is it that EVERY youtube channel about sugar gliders fill their enclosure with neon colored plastic? IMO it looks completely terrible, and i really want to get something else. Did you ever consider making a more natural looking enclosure that mimics their natural habitat more? or did you go the plastic way for convenience?

I think that people like to make things bright and colorful because it is more appealing to them and makes it feel more cheerful and fun. My personal preference varies, for example I like naturalistic fish and reptile and gerbil enclosures, so I decorated mine that way, while I also like colorful and girly cages for my rabbit and guinea pigs.

I’m finding this same problem most glider products are way to girly or colorful it’s even hard finding pouches I wouldn’t mind being seen with lol I found a naturalistic fleece cage set that’s green brown and black with fleese leaves on Etsy but it was pretty expensive I think I might start a Etsy shop making toys and fleece products that are catered more for guys

Fluoride in tap water? How does that effect them? I have two gliders I've been giving tap each day for over a year. Haven't heard what tap water would do (negatively) for them.

For animals that live in same room with gliders. Its tough topic. Bigger animals can stress out gliders (and they dont need to be predator), smaller animals like hamsers can be stressed becouse of gliders (remember - sugar gliders in nature hunt for little rodents and birds). So is there a middle point ? I think not. If you want hamster, rats or ferret - buyt them. If you want a SG - the same. Why the hell someone NEED to have both ? (and i dont even say that some ilness can be transfered from rodents to gliders). And for some reasons ppl think that cats are good animal to try and friend with them. Cats. Natural predator ... ehh i have no words ...

So I personally think that with the proper precautions its possible to have multiple species in the same room, and I say this from experience. I have 8 different species of animals and none of them really get stressed out by eachother. The only animals I'd be concerned about, as she said in the video, is free roam animals. If they can't interact then it should be fine.

@@Larissas-Jungle I dont say that it is imposible. I had a big answer for you - forgive me but i dont have time or care to write that much. I saw to much dead animals becouse of stupidity of owners. If you want to risk - your problem i dont have any more power to argue with ppl.

This Might Be A Weird Question But I Have 3 Suggies And Two Of Them Are Mother And Daughter And The Other Glider Is Seeming A Bit Sad At Night She Wont Leave The Cage As Fast And Will Wait Normally Till I Leave Im Not Sure If Its Because Shes Scared Of Me Due To Bonding Issues And I Notice During Tent Time She Just Goes To the Top Of The tent And Kinda Goes In All Directions And Its Very Hard To Get her Out, Is There Anything You would recommend?! (I was Thinking Abt Getting bonding pouches And More Treats)
@sugargliderdiaries2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a more nervous glider that needs more time and strategies for bonding

"I really need to stop asking ppl - how stupid can you be ??. Becouse some ppl are starting to taking it as a fluffy chalange" -This is last year of my talking with ppl interested in buyng sugar gliders. Its absolutly miserable how someone can call me on a phone becouse he wants to buy young gliders. Becouse he saw me on tik-tok or FB. And he cant even say what amilat it is ... yes he dont even know name of spiesies. I could write a book about dumbest questions in gistory of humankind.
