Just ordered theese today with usb-c midnight gray, together with iphone 16pro max black titanium. Cant wait to recieve it. First time entering the complete apple space hehe.

I’m torn between getting the AirPods Max with USB-C or the older ones-I don’t really care which, I just want the cheaper option, but are the firmware updates any different?

@@kenandogan8670 everything is the same except USB-C and colours. Plus Apple doesn’t sell an audio cable for the “new” ones.

Only “advantage” with the new ones is USB C instead of lightning and new flashier colors. Neither of which I find to be much of an advantage (I still have a bunch of Lightning cords to wear down anyways that I also use for my iPad). So definitely get the older Lightning ones.

Amazing video, I just placed my 1st order for the AirPod max in the midnight color. It’s my 1st purchase for the maxes. It’s usb c type now. Hopefully I won’t have no issues with them

Your basically paying for the ecosystem, larger drivers than regular AirPods and build quality. I just bought the usb c version and I love them. I love the way they work with the Apple TV, and the fact that they don’t have an off switch is just super convenient actually. In the end though it’s all about personal preference and if you can afford them and want them, go for it.

I listened to them at the Apple Store and the volume level is just not loud at all, not like my Beats By Dre Pro's which are literally half the cost today but feature much better sound quality, I must admit the noise cancellation feature was quite impressive but if I'm going to be spending £500 on Headphones, at least the sound quality has to match and unfortunately it doesn't on the Airpods!,

Someone told me online yesterday that they tune them so they don’t get super loud when you’re in the store. I bought them yesterday and I’m using them now and they get very loud.

no , it has a lot of internal issues , im on my 3rd pair now , they always have troubles connecting , condensation death and a lot more. Apple was kind and exchanged it so far two times , but it is just funny to me .

The answer is NO. They're obsolete. Apple needs to actually update them and use the H2 chip. New colours and a different charging port does NOT cut it. Oh and for that price an actual case instead of that atrocious partial cover needs to be included.

H2 does not affect sound quality. The noise cancellation may not be the best on the market, but still superior to a lot. This alone does not make them “obsolete”.

Maybe obsolete sounds too hash but There are so many better headphones out there right now

Obsolete is extremely overblown. Yes there are competitors that have made great headphones in the past 3.5 years since these came out but they are still great headphones and when factoring in the price (in the 300s during promos) they’re fair value for what you’re getting all things considered (not only sound quality)

i owned the airpod max and now the airpod max 2, they are extremely flawed products, i won’t even go into how their sound like how it literally has 0 ear gain, weird treble spikes and bloaty bass. the actual design is just awful, i’ve always hated the headband since day 1, it always slips off my head everytime i move even a little, the ear pads aren’t great either they’re pretty stiff and easily irritates my skin ik apple doesn’t want to use leather because they peel off over time but use something like velour, it’ll be much more comfortable than the mesh. what im most baffled about is how long it’s taken them, apple has the best sound engineers on the planet and has more resources than even the most established audio companies yet it’s been 4 years and the only thing they’ve changed is the connection and new colors.

We all know Apple has the RnD funds to make APM better, but supply chain changes are expensive I guess
