Liberon floor oil ideal for kitchen and bathroom . Slip resistant . Super tough had it on my staircase for 15 years just staring to wear off on the nosings with two kids constantly running up and down. You can use a water based dye to change the colour of the wood first if required as the oil is clear . Application is with a rag .

Think you will find if there is no carpet on the side walls, it will get cold and damp. We have all of our side walls carpeted up to the gunnel from the floor. Just a suggestion. Leveling floorboards with a belt sander is a daunting job. I don't know if they're available for rent in the UK from the big box stores, although I would imagine they are, but renting a floor sander for a couple of hours would be the way to go for me. Way more consistent surfaces, much faster and easier too. The refit is coming along nicely though.

Thanks James, yeah we were thinking about doing just that but then good ole Nigel came to us with a lend of his so we went for it. Hey guys. A lil longer of a comment.. First what is the name of the Company who makes that yellow box aka converter? I will need one when I get there :) greatly appreciate as I love that one. You guys need to re-attach the wood to the battons first. That hatch is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. So beautiful. Your home will look amazing - I can tell already now. I agree with adding thin wood boards over the other ones. Esp if cost is a factor. You could even paint the new boards, to bring more light reflection inside the boat. The floor looks smashing, even the training ground area mistake, I am sure its a mistake one only ever makes 1x.. ;) Btw you can add an alarm under the hatch & it will tell you if it ever makes contact with water. Cant wait when u guys are done!! You are getting soooo close!!

We did think about this but then it would mean the ceiling, top part of the walls and then the bottoms would all be t&g then along with the floor panels it would look like the inside of a crate 😂

Quick tips to save future tears. (Found out the hard way). Be careful which stain/wax you use. You don't want anything that's going to be too slippery on that super smooth floor, esp. when wet (i.e. wax). If it turns out like a 10-pin bowling alley lane it'll be a bugger to live with. Unless you buy some pins I suppose. Watch out for where you've used that glue/sawdust filler as those parts, which are mainly glue, may not take up any stain and will stay the colour the already are & stand out against the rest. When measuring, as you did for your wall panels, measure left to right across the top, then left to right at the bottom, then both diagonals, just in case the numbers don't match - meaning it's not as square as it ought be. Transformers are a great safety device for those who, arguably, ought not be trusted with dangerous power tools. Not that I'm implying anything. :-D www.nationaltoolhireshops.co.uk/blog/post/do-i-need-a-transformer/

Thanks so much, it did cross my mind too. As much as I'd love to convert our lounge into a bowling alley, it might lose its appeal after sliding and hitting our heads a few hundred times! 😂🎳🥴 I checked the wax we are looking into and fortunately it's specifically for floors and is non slip so the bowling dream may well be over!! Ahh thanks for pointing that out, it hadn't occurred to me so hopefully it doesn't stand out too proudly when we do get round to waxing the floor. I wonder if there's anything you can mix with it so it takes on the colour of the tint? That's also really great advise re the measuring especially for wonky boats where straight lines don't really exist!!! Thanks for sharing! Haha!!! This cracked me up!!! Maybe Chris should have a lighter mobile version permanently attached to his person for this exact reason!!! Thanks for watching and your helpful comments, they are much appreciated xx
