Yeah. If you’re going to go for that kind of play, you have to accept the risks you run. Lying to the detective as an innocent is just always going to be suspicious and a risky move. That’s just how it works. It’s just unfortunate luck that the first person both Ben and Nilesy found after going dark was Lewis, and he justifiably executed them.

Although it's a great idea, it wouldn't work. Deputy and Impersonator only trigger when the Detective isn't there. So instead of a Detective, I'd suggest throw in a second Deputy.

The issue with this idea is that the detective and deputy would be functionally identical roles in this kind of setup, so I suppose you could allow all the special detective types and just have the absolute most chaotic game of TTT ever

7:45 Nilsey punishing Lewis to see if it would activate the death note was smart I feel like the “No detectives” pack doesn’t really work. Because it immediately narrows it down too much. It’s like when the mercenary and Phoenix were first added leaving only one plain innocent. So if for example Zylus is that one innocent, then he immediately knows who’s bad because they’ll claim to be the “innocent” role. I feel it would work better if there was only one pseudo detective per round. That way, it just removed the guaranteed innocent part of the role. Statistics are the real enemy in this. So instead of one detective, there’s one deputy/impersonator/detectoclown. Edit: OR… Maybe get rid of the detectoclown and make it statistically less likely for a traitor to be the detective. Like 2 deputies:half and half:2 impersonators should be 60:30:10 or something. Rather than 33:33:33.

If the Phantom is killed by something that doesn't trigger their ability they could get the ability to possess objects, and use the move object option faster with less cool down. That way the role isn't pointless, even if they don't come back.

With this pack as is, it is the correct decision to eliminate all three detectives immediately, and this is why. There are four possible configurations here: Scenario 1: Deputy, Deputy, Detectoclown Scenario 2: Deputy, Impersonator, Detectclown Scenario 3: Impersonator, Deputy, Detectoclown Scenario 4: Impersonator, Impersonator, Detectoclown What does this mean? Scenario 1 results in 2 Innocents vs 2 Traitors, the worst possible outcome for team innocent, but not a complete loss. Scenarios 2 and 3 result in 3 Innocents vs 1 Traitor, a noticeable advantage for team innocent. Scenario 4 results in team innocent winning the game outright. We can see that eliminating all three detectives puts the Innocents at a disadvantage 25% of the time, an advantage 50% of the time, and outright winning the game 25% of the time. Granted, they will never play like this, but it I found it interesting.

The deputy should be the #1 anti-detective. They have 1 out of 2 100% confirmed evil detectives and the other one is a 50/50 evil. Also, I would love to see what Kirty's new Garry's Mod model will be. The detectoclown should be a jester until it activates, just to prevent RDMing the detectives from being the only correct option every round. This pack is even worse than it use to be. It was a 75% chance that you should kill the detective before. This version makes it 100% that you will kill an enemy by killing them on top of that 75% chance of killing a second or just winning instantly. There is now a 25% chance of winning flat out, 50% of killing one enemy, and 25% chance of killing only one enemy. There is a 0% chance of not killing an enemy.

This episode shows that discussing TTT and the meta of the game is more fun than turning TTT into a podcast. I hope the Yogscast learn from this and not turn TTT into another GTA where it is just a podcast with pretty colours for people to look at. Also having an interesting variety of maps helps. This episode was good because the setup was so broken, but crucially it was fun for them to discover and discuss the meta. And interspersing these moments were fun elements enhanced by the claustrophobic map, such as the artillery cannon and radio silence moment or the boba hiding from an alien moment, or the slams, or the barnacles. All good stuff.
