I was all set to buy these till I saw the $500 price tag. That’s real steep for dumbbells

Yeah they are not cheap, that's one of the reasons I didn't get them on the first go around. But then I ended up spending about $400 on weights over the course of the next couple years. So in my opinion if a person is going to be committed they are worth considering, as you will need more weights eventually anyway. If a person is just trying out lifting, might be worth to buy just a regular pair of dumbbells.
