Once upon a time 20 odd years ago, I could and did do Burpees. But time and sedentary lifestyle have changed that. Good way to start again.

The part I struggle with is kicking my feet back without causing a lot of strain on my lower back. The impact seems to go all to my lower back, so I step it out instead.

Burpees trigger my motion sickness, so I've never really been able to do them. It's not just a matter of needing to work my way up to them. 🤷♀️

I would suggest if you keep your focus fixed on one point (and breathe slowly and deeply)you should discover that not only does your motion sickness abate, but your balance and stability will improve. If not, might be wise to see an Eye Ears Nose Throat EENT doc…

@@onerider808 I've tried everything for my motion sickness. It's been lifelong, for 38 years, along with chronic sinus issues. Multiple doctors, including ENTs, have not been able to do anything but give me meds. For motion sickness, it's the patch or non-prescription Bonine. Dramamine makes me too tired. I'm not taking motion sickness meds just to be able to do burpees. I try not to take more meds than absolutely necessary. The sinus meds I've been given didn't really work, and I've tested negative for 90+ allergens twice. A rheumatologist even tested me for autoimmune issues; nothing came off that either. Multiple ENTs and allergists haven't been able to explain my annoying sinuses. I've just learned to live with these issues with a healthy lifestyle and lots of nasal irrigation and Kleenex. The motion sickness doesn't happen when I drive, but it did still affect me while driving when pregnant.

You can bend your arms and use your elbows or forearms instead of your wrists. There are solutions when you take a look at things. Also, maybe do other exercises instead of the burpee to take care of yourself until your wrists get into better condition? There are many things you can start with.
