My Dad, who could make anything, insisted "always use the best tools". Good tools, like these rulers, make the job easier, faster, more efficient.

I really like both of these rulers. I had never done either quilt. I did a crib size and a queen size ( pineapple )start to finish and given as gifts in 6 weeks. In addition to those quilts I used the left over scraps fo crumb quilt blocks. So almost nothing went to waste. The creative Grids rulers make sense to my brain.... for me. For me they make everything a lot easier and so much more precise. The log cabin went even quicker and yes a bit less waste. Than you for your review and information,

What a smart way to use the scraps!

I got the smaller size for the pineapple block and the 8inch size for the curvy log cabin block and can’t wrap my head around the beginning parts of the curvy log cabin. I haven’t been able to find an actual tutorial that walks you through step by step on the curvy log cabin. Everything I have found has been where each section is already cut and sewn together before they show you how to trim with the tool. I’m still a beginner so those first steps mean either success or failure for me so without them it’s been impossible. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with the pineapple block, I was just so excited to make a centerpiece for my table out of the curvy log cabin. As of right now I’ve wasted 50 bucks on these trim tools and hours upon hours of wasted time and fabric. I hope it all clicks for me eventually

I cannot imagine the reason your first pineapple quilt directions used templates! No wonder it took you a long time! Of course it would be much easier using the ruler from Creative Grids (or any other log cabin ruler, really!) I love CG rulers, but their specialty rulers are an investment.

Right?! Once I found out there was a better way I was so upset that I struggled so hard for no reason! Lol!

I agree - these tools speed up the process, guaranteeing a perfect block. I am not sorry I bought them both.

I agree. I am not sorry either! Once you figure them out, which didn't take long, the blocks come together so fast.

I have the templates. I use them to make quilts, potholders, mug rugs, wall hangings. Perfect results every time.

I loved this video because I never thought about this before! I can see how nicely your blocks turned out with the ruler so I'm definitely sold on them. I'm going to see if Michael's or Hobby Lobby has them so I can apply their coupons. Thanks for showing! xoxo

I didn't think they would help as much as they do! But I love them. My seams meet perfectly with no effort!

I have the log cabin but have not bought the pineapple one yet. I have some Pineapple paper for foundation paper piecing. I do enjoy the log cabin tool

I haven't tried paper piecing yet, but it looks like it makes really nice even seams.
