Dates are the fruits of the date palm tree and are grown primarily in tropical regions around the world. They come in various colors and sizes, but they all share a common feature: they’re sweet, really sweet. This natural sweetness mainly comes from glucose, fructose, and sucrose, which are all forms of sugar. At a glance, it might seem counterintuitive for someone with diabetes to consume something so sweet. But, as with many things in nutrition, the answer isn’t quite so black and white.
