I think the entire tuning industry gained attention in India since the mid 2000s and there were mods mostly for diesels coz they were turbo charged ... I do remember tuning boxes for 1.3 multijet, Hyundai getz etc ...

Do you find much difference after stage 1 tuning the 1.5 and 1.6 tdi engines on the polo? Which one is more tuner friendly with more potential for gains with just a stage 1?and lastly what do u think is more reliable?

The 1.6TDIs make a tad less power than the 1.5TDIs. Around 5-10HP less. The 1.6TDIs were plagued by injector failures, all though that does exist in the 1.5TDI as well, it's very rare and only happens on really high mileage engines if the car has been constantly getting poor quality fuel. We prefer the 1.5TDIs over the 1.6TDIs personally.

We can do a Basic Stage 1 Tune however, if the car has run over 80k kms, you will have to sign a waiver that you're willing to tune a high mileage engine knowing the risks involved and you will not blame Harmonixx for any failures that may occur post the tune. Our tunes are 100% reliable on newer cars. However, we cannot analyse how much wear & tear there is internally in your powertrain when it's too old or has run high mileage.

TBH, we've not worked on a Nexon yet. If you want to get the car tuned, you'd have to drop by our HQ and let us see the feasibility of tuning these. Yes, tuning any car does void warranty! Also, we cannot alter the gearshift pattern on the AMT as that module cannot be read/written to.

PUC tests are mostly unaffected as long as you leave the OE exhaust untouched and that is precisely what we recommend for all diesel motors.

We can do a DPF delete in the Software & replace the Catalytic Converter & DPF with a straight pipe so you won't have to worry about DPF clogging issues. But remember, with these your car will not pass emissions tests.

The 1.5 CRDi ECUs can currently only be tuned via Boot, meaning we have to open up the ECU & read & write directly to the chip on the PCB. This method can be a bit risky & thus majority of the enthusiasts are waiting for an OBD/Bench protocol to be released which are a lot safer. But if it's DPF issues you're facing, we can disable that for you as long as you're okay with us opening your ECU.

The Hyundai/Kia 1.5CRDI engines require the ECU to be opened up completely and our tunes are flashed directly by soldering/connecting to the PCB of your ECU. This is a risky process and we request those who don't want to do this to their ECUs to wait a bit longer until the OBD/Bench protocols are released for these ECUs.
