Cheers, Loyd! Greatest shoe-tuber on the Internet - and so much more. I have 2 pair of the 002s. The heel counter refinement is dazzling. Yet for me it’s a sub-50 K option, unlike the 001, which was mostly comfortable (except for the heel counter) in a 50-miler last year. Appreciate the heads-up on the draining problem in the 002. Right now I’m enjoying the Saucony Endorphin Rift and expect to use for a 12-hour Mountain ultra on the Navajo Nation in 2 weeks. Happy roads and trails!

After 70+km in these shoes I started to get peroneal tendonitis symptoms, I went back to my SpeedGoats and the inflammation disappeared. Just not enough support for me in the heel area, I cannot imagine what 001 was like. I also really noticed how soft they were and initially loved them for that but after hitting some rocky trails they were not much fun anymore! One other issue for me was the Dyneema laces kept coming undone on me and I am someone who this never happens too. Probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever run in but it will be relegated to the soft buffed out trails for me. 🇨🇦

I'm not a trail runner but I used the 001 on a thru hike of New Zealand and i loved them. Yes they are expensive BUT they turn out cheaper because they lasted way longer than 2 other pairs of shoes (Hokka, Altra) did combined. My only complaints were the laces come undone quite often but are eqsily replaced, and the i wished the heel was more cushioned so its great to see that addressed in the 002

as always a super good video, with lots of information. thank you for that! I think the price score should stand for its own, in general. Because it has nothing to do with the real hard facts of a shoe, when it comes to performance, comfort or design.

Love mine! Expecting them to last a long time to justify the price tag and from what I experienced with the 001’s they seem equally as bombproof. Wore them for Mt Blanc marathon, totally submerging them while cooling off in the cold streams and had no drainage issues! See you in Chamonix for UTMB week, the elite field is looking 🔥 following KJ’s news today!

Super informative, are you planning to do any reviews of the Normal shoes? See them popping up more and more.

A bit of speculation, but the design might reflect the conditions in eastern Canada where it's relatively dry and rain is often so brief and infrequent that you can just wait it out. The terrain is fairly mild, even the mountains are fairly rounded over due to their extreme age, so you're mostly optimizing for dry conditions, wet trails with no rain, and moderate snow in biting cold where gaiters, or waterproof socks, are valuable. If you look at designs from Arc'teryx, out in western Canada, you'll see much more emphasis on rigid high drainage designs and more comprehensive waterproofing since it rains all the time for long stretches out near the coast. They offer trail shoes in light weight high drainage designs, a bit higher cut GORE-TEX where you can easily fit gaiters, and snug integrated gaiter variants for the wet alpine snows they get out on the sunshine coast and up in the mountains.

Very informative review 👍 The 001’s have really worked for me and are a ‘do it all’ shoe (no issues with drainage there) but the 001’s look to be a good option when the trails are more technical (and dry😂) and you don’t need the added cushioning of the 001. I think they look 🔥 but 225 tho… ouch!!

The 001 heel is really hit or miss. Fits my feet perfectly and has never been an issue but I can easily imagine it not working at all for some people. I am looking into maybe getting a pair of 002 soon to complement my 001 that are still almost as new after roughly 700km.

before someone can't run this shoe - wear the right socks! First i had a bloody blister from wearing a wrong socks on my first run, now i never have one problem with it, no matter if wearing a synthetic or merino socks - love this shoe - like a slipper and never feels wrong .

Great review as always! I guess these won’t fit the (often) wet autumn in Norway due to bad draining? Have you considered to test out one of the NNormal shoes? The Tomir seems like an interesting shoe, bur also quite expensive. Keep up the good work😊

Thanks that is so interesting. I was very tempted, firstly because I can't help being biased for a shoe company from my home country (I am Québécoise) but I live in Malaysia and I am always looking for a fast drying shoe for our very wet and humid jungle conditions, I love the ultra Glide but the never dry, I have just tried The North Face Enduris3 in very wet conditions last weekend and loved it. According to your experience, what is the best shoe that drains well for long distance Ultras?

For a committed road runner who occasionally runs trail, £225 is way too much! However, it you turn it around and you run the vast majority of your miles on the trails then you can justify the price. I have 8 or 9 pairs of road shoes that I've paid a similar amount for

Have the 001. Yea they are pricy but their durability and fit is 2nd to none. Some of the only shoes that are accommodating to wide feet besides new balance

That doesn't seem right! Have you tried contacting the shop you bought them from or Norda? I woukd definitely recommend that because I haven't had any of theses issues with my pair 👍

I actually disagree with most of the comments. I love the shoe. If anyone in here would like a cheaper shoe similar to this, in my opinion, it’s the Nike Terra Kiger 9. I know it’s Nike but they upgraded the lugs and has a very similar feel. But half the price.

My understanding is that the 002 isn’t an update on the 002 but just a new model of shoe they have added to give a different option to runners 🤓 so for example if Norda decides to bring out a road shoe it will be called the 003 🤓
@Run4Adventure

That’s right, the 002 is a lighter more stripped back shoe compared to the 001 👍

I actually purchased a pair of the 001 to put to the test 🤓 want to see if they are in fact as durable as they say 🤓 I’m currently running 500 km a month on all different types of terrains here in Ireland from local countryside trails to full on mountain trails and bogs 😄☘️ I need a shoe that the upper is durable enough to out last the sole and midsole which is not the case with the saucony XU2, Saucony Endorphin Edge Trail and also the Hoka Speedgoat 5 🤓

Great review as almost always. Sensible rating and fully agree. And, no in video ad 👍 That is a solid thumbs up. (FYI People pay for KZbin Premium to avoid ads, and when channels bypass that with in video ads, like you did on your previous video, that is not ok. Something I guess and hope KZbin will crack down on in some sort). Glad you continue the great reviews without. Subscribed again.

For that money it needs to bring mr a coffee in bed, let alone be good on all types of terrain. Any interest I may have had, starts and finishes with that price.

They sell them in a fashion webshop here in Norway for twice the price of a Speedgoat, and almost three times the price of a Ultraglide. And more than a Saucony Pro 3 or Adios Pro 3. No thanks! 😂

I've seen them I a few fashion stores in the UK as well. I'm not a fan of this but it's easy money for the running brands to sell to fashion stores! A lot of the big sneaker stores in the states now stock Hoka, Salomon, New Balance and many more! 🤔 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
