So, I’m pagan and I do a lot of deity work. There was a time during my practice were I really feel like something was messing with me. I could feel it wasn’t anything heavy or evil…nah, this being was out to mess with me. Then I knew. It’s the damn fae. And awhile back I was running my mouth about the fae…Damn thugs. And that’s when one of my deities stepped forth who kind of knows how to work with fae (even on her mythos) and helped me with the situation. I had to apologize for disrespecting them and make an offering. Lol, within several days I started finding things that just disappeared, my cat started working properly again and people were less catty. Damn fae. They definitely steal! When my grandmother passed away I had a dress of hers from the 70s it suddenly disappeared… I went crazy looking for it. I even went to see an Oracle. She said I know you don’t believe me but the fairies took it. I asked her if I was gonna get it back she said eventually. The day I was moving out of where I was living I went into my empty room and the dress was sitting in the middle of the room in a bag. Omg, i got it. They play with karma and time lines. They hide your keys etc, make you late, hit every red light, miss your connection, so you are where you are meant to be when events happen, like miss a plane that gets into a crash. But they do it in troublesome ways like a flat tyre, person has to walk miles to get help, or their job to get 2 people to meet, 1 might have years of really bad luck, losing jobs, etc, and they meet the other person perhaps spilling a drink over them...

@jiayueyang2894 I think it's more accurate to say, irish people are very wary of fairy's. Irish people have a very deep culture thats mixed with all kinds of mystical things. Banshee's, ghosts, fairys, lady of the lake. Just a few examples. There's lots of old beliefs like planting seeds according to the moon. Omens, pagan / nature based understanding.

In ireland I don't think it's actual law, but everyone knows you don't mess around with fairy's stuff, farmers seem to be very close to fairy's possibly it's a mutual connection to the land, but there's trees, rocks, hills, Wells, and as troublesome as it is, a farmer will never remove it, work around it, give a lot of space. There's a basic understanding that if you don't trouble them, they won't trouble you. And fairy's are seen as big trouble in ireland, the ultimate tongue twisters, you say one thing but it means another. Like if a farmer asked the fairy's not to harm the cows in the field, they won't, but they may harm the sheep in the field next door instead. So irish people stay well clear of all fairy stuff if they have any sense.

Ireland here... We have a "fairy fort" on our land. My father is I. His seventies and has farmed the land since early 90s... He will not touch it. Will work around it. We are not allowed pick the daffodils and flowers that grow on it. More than likely an ancient burial spot but legend is it belongs to the fairies. I would never go near it. I've heard stories of farmers who did not heed the warnings 😳

When you said at the end about fairies being really important to the ecosystem, its absolutely true. From both my experience and others, they use energy to help the trees and plants grow, give colour to flowers, keep water springs clear. But because of what human beings are doing to the planet and nature we are making their job more and more difficult. There are some who see the importance of forming connections with humans to help the planet and spread their message but there are others who dont want anything to do with us because of the disrespect we show to nature. I’m Irish and this so accurate to the Irish folklore and fairy stories we are told here! I was told from a young age to ask for permission to enter certain areas (ring forts) so that they don’t punish you or trick you. They are known for tricking people and being mischievous in Ireland. They are not known as the sweet and cute fairy from Pop Culture. They have a dark side and the Irish people know it! They are also known to run Ireland before people came here and they were called the Tuatha Dé Danann. When people arrived to the island, they were banished underground after a war so maybe that’s where you got the devil symbolism and punishment from!

@@Andreaagutierrez- look up fae for books to read. There are a good number of fictional books written about humans and the fae. Pick one up that you have a strong feeling for and read it. Well, buy it first then take home to read. There are books written about them and things that are very true. I’m an ‘ole lady, so I don’t remember the titles or authors. Sad thing is, I have all of my books packed up in boxes, otherwise, I’d look for you. I own more than three thousand books and more. I’ve read every one of them too. So if I did try and find them, it would more than likely take me to my last few boxes. The Fae are that way. They also get pissed if your home needs a cleaning. If you have a clean home, it will be the nicer ones to visit you. Just don’t go to visit them. Why? If you eat anything there you won’t be able to get back. And don’t ever dance with them either, otherwise, you may end up dancing forever, and who the heck wants to do that? Sure, they have a lot of pretty and sparkly things, but it’s not worth it. If I still haven’t talked anyone out of it, find yourself a good witch, preferably from Ireland, Wales, England or Scotland, and have a good talk with them, maybe get some protection spells on you. You’ll need it, for sure.

Hello, beautiful People! My grandparents in England had certain rituals they’d follow in the year in respect for the Fairies. For instance, for Christmas, my Grandfather would always put outside some of the beer he made and some of the best sweets, cakes, pasties, breads and more that was the same that we’d be eating, or better during our Christmas holiday. My grandfather always gave them the best pieces or selections of food we’d be eating. I also remember my Gran saying you needed to have a clean house or they’d get real upset with you. They were of the mindset of everything has its place, and it better dam well be there. If you didn’t, they’d play pranks on you that wouldn’t be very funny except to them. They can be right buggers, and they can even be kind some of the time, but never ever trust them. Never. No matter how good they’re making whatever sound. To find them ~ If you go for a nice walk and if you ever see a clearing with a circle of flowers, stones etc., you’ve found their dwelling. I’m talking about only a few feet in diameter. However, there sure are a lot of stones in circles aren’t there? All over the United Kingdom (U.K.). I’m serious, it’s what I’ve been told ever since I was a wee one. Have I ever found one? Nope, and don’t want to. They’re smarter than me. 😮 and I swear they screw with me all of the time. For example, I never went to the emoji page to put one in here, but one sure did show up without my permission and in all honesty, it goes with what I said, so I’ll leave it. Lastly, my daughter had been fascinated with Fairies when she’d been young and loved anything with wings too. And if there were wings she herself could wear? She’d be in absolute heaven. It was so adorable, and I knew I wasn’t supposed to mess with anything, except protection spells on my daughter. Plus, I didn’t think any fairies lived in Alaska, but we do have enough military bases and installments that they could’ve gotten a ride here that way. Go from an American base in the U.K. to here would be so easy for them. I think it’s partly why we have so many of them in our country. One day, she built a fairy home from twigs and anything else she could find in the woods to help in her little creation. Her Dad had helped a little bit, and I think that’s where we messed up. It was a well built, little home. The home also held a small bit of his person (energy) from his aide in the creation. I think it even had a table and a chair or two. It was a really cute and a well made home. After my daughter showed it to me, I told her to put in the woods on our property and to remember exactly where she had put it by looking around and remembering landmarks from different directions. She was a smart kid and understood my directions and prayers well. A day or two later, my daughter came running to me to tell me the little, wooded home for the fairies were gone, and, Ella, our golden retriever, had last been seen with it in her mouth running away from our daughter. When I called Ella to come to me, she of course came running minus the Fairie home. We never did find it, and it’s not like we had a lot of woods on our one acre land either. Over the years, I’ve walked around looking for it, or even a Fairie circle and never saw anything resembling either. Now, my daughter is a witch in training. She’s wanting to learn how to heal people, so she’s making tinctures, spells and who knows what else. I just know she’s been spending a lot of time in the woods, desert, prairies and so forth. I believe she’s called a green witch in training. One cool thing though, is her name is very Irish and she looks like her name too. Plus, her Native name suits her very well too. I remember more than a decade ago, I had a reading at our Fair. I had been told she had been a medicine woman in her past life on our continent and in our country. It had been way before any of the colonizers came. Plus, I believe she had been from northern center of our country like maybe Wisconsin, Canada, Minnesota area. She had died during a raid on their encampment. I had been told she had died by a spear near her hip bone. I’m thinking the spear could’ve been dipped in poison, which was not unusual with raiders or warriors in battle. Now, it’s obvious I don’t know for sure, but if one was to look at it, it’s quite plausible that the person reading the cards came to this conclusion. And get this, they hadn’t even seen her. She had been busy going on as many rides with her friends on coupon night, or whatever it had been called. There are a number of psychics who believe that birthmarks on people today could signify on how they had died. Our daughter had a big one with the length being at least two inches. Looking at her birthmark and knowing this, it looks very plausible. At least to me it was. Be well, and have a happy smiling day!

In my cultures mythology (Māori) - we call them "Patupaiarehe" they are said to live in forests, and mountainess areas, seen as pale albino beings with white, red, or blonde hair. They are nocturnal, and dont like sunlight or fire. There are also the "Ponaturi" which are sea fairies, pale beings with red hair and claws. They dont like the sun either, but come on land at night.

That sounds... eerily accurate. My mom said the same thing about her interaction with them when she was a child. They tried to lure her to their realm and they wanted to keep her there to live with them. She knew better than to eat anything they offered so she ran as far away from them as possible. She asked a local shaman to have her third eye closed so as not to see them (or other supernatural beings). She did the same with my sister so my sister would be protected.

This reminds me of the time the fae pulled a cute lil prank on me. I had these big sparkly compacted eyeshadows in a makeup tray on my desk, after I did my makeup I closed it & left but when I came back I saw sparkles all over my floor? Confused I opened the pallet & to my surprise every eyeshadow was crumbled up almost like a child put their finger in it & stirred up the shadows. Maybe they're important to the ecosystem because they're, in some way, protectors or the guardians of the land? I'm Ininew (Cree, Indigenous) and my community has a ton of memegwesi (fae) lore and they are just as important, sacred and integral to the land as the mashkiki (medicines, maybe more closer to herbs in western culture?) we rely on. They can often act like spirit guides and they carry a lot of teachings that they sometimes gift to folks that they like. That being said, I've always been taught to be cautious and respectful around them because the concept of bad and good do not apply to them and they are as unpredictable as nature can be.

You’ve picked up on fairies PERFECTLY. They ABSOLUTELY take things. 😆 They will return them, though. Also, they are elemental and fierce protectors of animals & plants. They’ll help you with your pets & plants, but you will have to do something in exchange. There's several legends of Fairies around the British Isles. We are always told as kids to stay on the path in woods, never go off with the Fairies else you'll never come back. Solar lights at the base of a tree, but I saw a red one moving . I showed the photos to a professional photographer and even she couldn’t explain one particular photo with the red light! Fairies are absolutely real. I have a pic of mine. She was sitting on a rim of a hat that was hanging on my dresser . Also , I have pictures of three fairy circles in my yard. I wish that I could upload these pics because they are beautiful. I leave them gifts such as shiny things ( necklaces, buttons, )milk on their alter .I also leave specific things outside of the circle . That protected space is interesting. When I was in Ireland the guide told us rocks in a circle (out in a field/forest/ wherever) are called Fairy Circles and he won't touch or disturb them. He said most Irish people won't. He threw in "I don't really believe in fairies, but just in case.". So it's pretty ingrained in the lore there. Do not mess with a fairy's claimed spot.

The bit where you say they imprint on likeminded people. As a pre school kid i was more in the elemental realm than in this world and always told anyone who would listen about them. As i grew i was always weirdly protected, anyone messed with me got 'bad luck' it happens so often that peoole thought i was a witch which i kinda am but i swear i wasn't doing it. I'm only 2 minutes in but it's already going where I thought it would. Usually when I check fairy lore, half of it is about how to protect yourself from them. Like them fairies are hood XD Also their perception of consent and ours is not the same. To them, if they trick you into saying yes to something, you consented. And you never say thank you directly because then it turns into being indebted to them. So yeah. Some people worship them and ''work with'' them, but the first thing they do is try to warn you about how not for everybody those beings are and how dangerous they can get.

Everything you said aligned with what I've already heard/experienced, except the cupid part, that was new but interesting. I'd say that the deal with the devil is a different entity, based more on selfishness and greed, it's more evil. The fairies are too detached from everything as you said. But they CAN do evil things for sure, they're known to actually be possibly dangerous, but their INTENT is not necessarily evil, it's like they just don't understand what harm is. Or they don't care, because they are also connected to the afterlife, so even if they cause death on this plane, its not that serious because hello, you'll just respawn?? Why you mad?? So in the end when you compared them to bees I was like YES, that's basically it lol. They are also close with wild animals in the woods. They do generally make me uncomfortable irl though. I envy people who say they have a positive relationship with them. I don't seem to be able to find the nice pleasant ones. I love this reading! I was a mischievous child, and later in life, I realized I was highly abused by males. I built a fort in a bunch of ivy to "protect myself" from my brother and his overly sexual friends. Once I was inside the fort, I started seeing what looked like little diamonds bouncing around in front of me. I started playing with them, and they landed on my hands and lifted up my hair. I moved my fingers around, and they bounced from finger to finger. I was absolutely mesmerized! I saw them a few more times in the fort, but when my horrible brother and his friends found me, they went away. I abandoned the fort because they had found me. I never saw anything like that again.
