In Oct. 2004, my wife and I began chatting after meeting on Yahoo personals, she put Tampa, US as hometown and her first email stated she lived in the Philippines. By Feb. 2005 we were engaged. Flew to Manila in March and we drove to her province. Stayed for 3 weeks and got married. It took her 9 months to get to US. Now we have two kids and married for over 17 years. I met my wife on a dating site. We almost never touched the subject of sex until we met in real life. First time I met her she agreed to stay with me at a resort. This was a big thing for the family so they had me sign a letter of intent to marry. Since I was serious I had no problem doing that. I know they wanted to save their daughter’s reputation if it turned out I was a scumbag. The family is very conservative, my wife would for example never wear a bikini on the beach. I’ve learned to accept that. Best thing I’ve ever done in life is to marry a Filipina.

I wouldn’t have signed a letter of intent because they wouldn’t have imposed that on a local guy. But otherwise I agree with the spirit of this. My dream is to get my own Filipina some day. As soon as financial markets here recover (if that happens) I’ll have enough money to move over there and start a family.

@@kaje01 I signed it for two reasons. 1. It was not binding in any way. 2. My wife had a boyfriend (she thought) from Italy. During his visit it was obvious he had other girls too. So if signing this letter of intent helped my wife and parents in law to save face, I had no problem with that since I was serious about the relationship. My copy of the document is framed and hanging on my bedroom wall.

My late wife was from the Philippines, she was a very decent woman, quite Conservative and religious, she was far from being easy. Money nor economics ever played any part in our relationship, it was a relationship based on love and two kindred souls coming together. My wife is a Filipina and it was definitely not "easy" to get her haha. I had to have a house in the Philippines before her family would let her marry me. No sex before marriage. However, my wife was 22, tall, a virgin, university educated, very beautiful - she is the pride of her family. Her mother told me that the expectations are not the same if you are trying to marry, say, a single mom in her 30's.

It's not unreasonable for her family to expect me to demonstrate my commitment and ability to care for and support my wife. To make a connection to the Philippines that would bring us back now and then. I have no doubt that if I got paralyzed, diagnosed with cancer, and fired on the same day my wife would stay by my side. As far as being "easy" sexually it is hard to compare the attitudes and practices of different cultures and races and religions fairly for both people involved. There are 55 million Filipinas, what % are on dating sites catering to foreign men? Looking at such a small subset of data and extrapolating it to the general population will yield inaccurate conclusions. You also have to factor in cultural norms such as marriage and child bearing are encouraged at early ages in less developed countries such as the Philippines whereas in countries such as the US, Japan, UK it is not and the results are you see a decline in the natural birth rates. Also abortion is practically unavailable in less developed countries. Cheers!. There are many variables to consider when speaking of birthrates, marraiges, abortion when you compare different countries. The primary correlation between all of them is the underlying economy of each country. Wealthy countries generally have lower birth rates. Cheers!

Hi Patrick. Good post. IMO, we men in the West KNOW what we bring to the table is paramount to snagging a decent woman. However, with the advent of internet/social media, Western women are now so self-absorbed, demanding and delusional regarding their own market value/attractiveness, it's no surprise guys are migrating to the Phils and Thailand droves...Countries where you can still find women who know what they need to bring to the table and truly appreciate what a man brings to the table...and they show that appreciation. Just don't take that sweet Filipina or Thai gal back to the States, or she'll get "Americanized," and it's game over. Sad, but true.

I think it has more to do with dating being more straightforward there without all the mind games. Also, the simple law of ratios being that there is a much higher number of females to males, so it seems easier to meet someone... It's also easy to tell if a Filapina is interested in you even if you just have basic knowledge about how women let you know they are interested. If a Filapina is not interested, you will know pretty quickly, but she will still be very sweet about it unlike western women who can be very cold and degrading. Unfortunately, there are still many foreigner men that play the deception game even when he finds out that a Filapina is looking for a serious relationship... The guy will just play along until his vacation is over, and then leave, never speaking to her again, and sometimes leaving her pregnant too... I've seen some very nasty, low grade men even boasting about it on social media sites. They eventually get called out by other guys, but it doesn't change them or the damage they have caused... I think you summed it up pretty well. I wouldn't say Filipinas are easy, that's over-simplifying. However, there are certain cultural factors (which you mentioned) which tend to give western guys a bit of an advantage. But as a western guy, and having been to the Phils many times, I don't see Filipinas as easy. That's sort of a derogatory term anyway. I see it more like I happen to be in a counrty where I'm a little more of an exotic dish on the menu, lol.

Hi Rubeauti. Interesting topic and comments. You make several good points. I think it depends on the person. There are those who don't really care who their partner is and are more aggressive in pursuing a western guy and there are those who want to make the best choice they can so they are more conservative. I have chatted with a lot of Filipina's online and many are very eager to meet in person. Some even after the first time you chat. I don't think all are looking to go to a foreign country. About 90 % I have chatted to want to stay here in the Philippines and I think are just looking for a better life. I do have to say most my appear conservative but most of those don't really listen to their parents. That is why there are so many young single mom's here. Now having said that I would not consider Filipina's on the whole as being easy. I have heard a lot of guys saying I was at the Mall having lunch and was approached by many girls and some say this happens all the time. Well I have seen this or experienced this so maybe a lot thinks girls here are easy cause of what guys are saying to make themselves look better to their western friends. Keep smiling and stay safe

Hi, Rubi!...I think your own personal take was spot on. In the case of a younger Filipina, I think that a Westerner - his money, his genetics, his passport - represent "opportunity" that is often lacking in Filipino culture, if not in the economy for them. It's an opportunity to chase a dream, and possibly to escape the straightjacket of a duty-bound, patriarchal culture. Some people see this as a fetish on the part of Filipinas, or the seeking of a status symbol. I myself am a lot more charitable. It's a natural thing to aspire to more than your original environment offers you. The devil of it though, is how she can adapt. Does he pull her out into his world, or does she pull him into hers? Or, do they find that unicorn - a blended world that they can both be happy and satisfied in?...Good topic with a lot nuances Rubi!... 😉

@@Rubeauti It's not being "easy", it's the economics of supply and demand. Spend time in a western country and you will see men with wealth, high incomes and educations have the ability to acquire more women western women from lower economic profiles. Plenty of average western men travel to South America and poor Eastern European countries to meet women because their incomes make them wealthier than the natives of these countries. Ask yourself this question: How many western billionaires do you see moving to the Philippines and marrying poor Filipinas or poor Thai women? You will see them marry marry poor actresses, dancers, playboy models, swimsuit models, fashion models etc. A lot of the western men you see in the Philippines are the average men in their own countries and predominantly older. Average people have average analytical skills, average self-introspection capabilities, average skills of observation and make average comments such as Asian women are "easier". Cheers!

I am about average looking and currently overweight (i wasn't always overweight) and have lived in Shanghai, China since 2012. I have gotten more dates here than i ever could dream of in the states. It really depends on the social environment where you meet these women. If they are in clubs, resorts, and such... they're looking for excitement. Also, not just the environment but the social circles they associate with... different strokes for different folks. Everybody is different. There are conservative women that wouldn't be caught in a club hanging out with men or foreigners. You have to consider also their backgrounds, priorities, and preferences. In my experience, women are less conservative these days than we would like to think. They're just very discrete, they don't kiss and tell or brag about their conquests. I feel that it all depends largely on the individual on how things are or how easy or not someone is no matter where in the world they are. Also what may seem easy to some may not be for others. I know there are some Asian woman I'd like to get to know but they are the self sufficient living off grid type. Have much respect and admiration for them. Interesting topic Rubeauti. Yes I would say Asian girls are easier to get than Western girls, but there’s several reasons for that I think. One is certainly economic reasons, the chance of a better life, even to escape real hardship and that’s understandable. Many Filipinas I’ve spoken to really want a mixed Western/Asian baby. Luckily for even older Western guys, Filipinas find them attractive…something that Western girls don’t. Filipinas are easier to get than Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indonesian etc for several other reasons also. Their friendly welcoming personalities, ability to communicate well in English, fun and happy personality all help to form close relationships quickly. Just enjoy their feminine ways, no need to disrespect them or be judgmental.

I think Asian or at least S.E.Asia are probably more likely to have fun, but I wouldn't say they are easy, I,ve lived and stayed in Thailand, and Vietnam on different occasions, over many years. And although you have many ladies who work as taxi ladies in Vietnam and the nightlife industry of Thailand. I would think most other ladies are going to be a lot more conservative in that situation, Vietnam ladies were usually very strict on the fact of dating let alone having a sexual encounter. Maybe if you were super handsome I don't know. I am only average or a touch better. But isn't it in the eye of the beholder. And yes there was at times a case of being in the right place at the right time. I think these ladies just like to experiment with a different culture, I had the odd occasion when I ve been propositioned without any money being exchanged, hey that is what life is about experience and enjoyable times, okay mostly ladies in these countries want to look for security and or a better future. But I think that is the same in most countries in the world. People say money can,t buy you true love. And they are probably right although it does help. You give me any western lady in a first world country. Being put in the same situation as ladies in a third world country, they wouldn't handle it as well, or wouldn't know what to do. Besides ladies in these situations like in Thailand or the Philippines, who work in the entertainment industry. Are far more naturally gorgeous and very beautiful, great fun to be around they are extra smart. Because of that situation. I,m in my late 50,s and I can vouch for these ladies. They have taught me so much about life in everything and sexual situation, then a western women could in million years. So in finishing, western women if I had to rate out 10 I,d say a 3 or 4 at best S.E.Asian women 9.6 at least so you get my drift. And like I said it is only an opinion, right or wrong who knows.
