Are Godzilla & Kong FRIENDS Now? Or Will they still FIGHT?

What does the ending of Godzilla Kong the new empire say about the relationship between the two titular titans now in the Monsterverse? Are they buddies now or are they still at odds with each other?
As we all know in GvK, Godzilla was actually searching for signals and disturbances which he felt was the re-emergence of Monster Zero. This drove him into a heightened state of alert and combat readiness.
This fight with Kong also weakened Godzilla, who by the time Mechagodzilla was activated, had become too exhausted to actually put up a good fight.
But thankfully with the help of Kong, the mechanized titan was defeated. So, both of them in the end had an uneasy truce, with Kong dropping the axe as a sign of peace and Godzilla swimming back to the sea to recuperate. This was unsaid but understood that the surface world was Godzilla’s realm and Kong can do whatever he wanted to in the hollow earth, just don’t come back up or it will be treated as a challenge.
Godzilla, now more powerful that he ever was and combat ready again as he was in GvK, was expecting something out of the ordinary to come out from beneath the world. Funny, it was again Kong that came out in Egypt, who roared and sent a clear signal to Godzilla to come to where the ape was. Unfortunately, titan language is just what I said a while back, non vocal and is highly inferred by instincts and signals.
Like a miracle from down below, at the most crucial moment, Mothra shows up and sents Godzilla falling backwards with her powerful godrays.
And so here in Giza, Egypt, a pact was forged where the three would stop the upcoming colossal danger that threatens to take down both the surface and hollow earth realms.
This Team work ended in the defeat of a common enemy, the restoration of the natural order of things, mothra reawakening and both of them going back to their own respective territories.
I would say that after this, a strong trust would have been formed between the two and they definitely would be able to count on each other for future world ending fights.

It's kind of refreshing to see them working together for a change. Depending on how far the Monsterverse goes, maybe one more team up to make it a trilogy and then they can go back to taking on their own conflicts in any possible future Monsterverse films.

We already know this answer, Godzilla only fought Kong again because he thought Kong was challenging him with his alpha roar, that’s why Godzilla roared back and didn’t hesitate to fight. Also Kong & Godzilla smile at each other after Scar King is dead and the crystal is broken. There would be no reason for them to fight a 3rd time, there isn’t a reason as of now for Kong to go to the surface of the earth, but I’m sure he will in the next movie.

Godzilla is the protector while Kong is king. Kong has an overpowered pet that is an alpha titan that is mostly peaceful. (Unless controlled) they won’t fight again. Plot don’t need it now. Kong and big g have an understanding thru mothra. (Mothra said I was cool with his family the nigga live.) without mothra Godzilla would be overwhelmed by shimo and skarking plus apes. The next movie will be all Godzilla. Mostly because a threat is coming. The next villain will set up destroya but the villain will be a Godzilla species that mututes. I believe it depends on the circumstance or writing of the story. Since Godzilla and kong have a connection to the iwi tribe, Godzilla may finally have the full understanding that kong is connected to him, and misjudged kong because of the war. At this point in my view they are like brothers. Mothra also played a role in healing the feud between them. Family.

I hope that is the angle the writers go with. I don't know if this was intentional, but this sets up a sort of "Avengers" corp. for the monsterverse. Seeing Godzilla and Kong go at it again would just be old hat, so it's time to bring in other kaiju.

I certainly wouldn't call them "friends", but definitely possible allies in the future. I think the problem is simply who Godzilla is. Kong is very mature, and willing to work with others, but Godzilla is just an indestructible force of nature that wants to restore balance between the titans. Now that we have Mothra, she may help bring them closer in the future. As a lifetime Godzilla fan, I can only hope that Godzilla and Kong have set aside their differences. They both recognize each other's territories and respect each other for being the top alphas. So I definitely wouldn't call them friends, but instead, short companions who are willing to work with another.

Cairo That is plenty for me and I hope they don’t try to force a 4th bout in any future installments. Realistically they are not friends yet but they are working towards it. At this point post GXK I would say Godzilla would still be triggered and go after Kong if he were to came to the surface, but he would first "ask" what is the reason for his comeback first. It is pretty clear that the G-man doesn't see Kong as a threat but we have to keep in mind that they are stll territorial creatures so he would like an explanation.
