If I am not mistaken, didn't Acme's lead maker come from Xibao shoemaker, who does Yeossal and Oct 10? to me, xibao, blazing wonders, yeossal, and Oct 10 have similar attributes in terms of quality. Yearn is interersting, a bit of a step down but still unique quality in their RTW, but their lasts were harder for me.

Oliver and Xibao are both the owner of Oct 10, so I have to say, I have 100% faith on this brand and it's future.

It’s a tough needle to thread with some of the white label Chinese lines. I.e. they come from some of these original makers. @@ShellvedgeHow does QuantheShoemaker and Flame Panda compare as they are both made in China as well? I have two pairs from Quan and they look amazing. This Instagram is incredible as well. Super easy to deal with, his communication is excellent and leadtime at least a year ago was pretty decent. He even uses CAD and produced a 3D image of my custom bot so I could see what it would look like. It’s been 15 months and I still haven’t received my pair from Peng at Flame Panda. His communication is not very good lol.

Value retention may be important to some and rarely commented on. In my experience, well known UK brands seem to retain value better - RTW - than the say Chinese or Indonesian makers and to that extend that should be factored into cost and not just the headline price when assessing options; esp should you be thinking of reselling in future.

too expensive. for the same price I get MTO gazziano and girling with all the customization. no way am I getting acme at this price.

Fair enough. I’d point out, that GG with all the customization is made in a factory, using goodyear welt construction, and MTO pattern options. To get the comparable GG, it would be the Optimum line which is around $5,000. Very different shoes

@@ml9557 and that’s perfectly ok. I was just making the point that GG $1800 shoe is not comparable to the quality or finishing you get from acme. GG’s $5,000 is comparable to Acme.
