That's a great concept. Layering is definitely important and by the looks of it that jacket is thin enough to be an under layer so that when you use the heat function that heat doesn't have to go through inner layers to get to your body. I also agree with the shortcomings that you mentioned, especially the length.

Hi I live in Canada and I wear my vest all the time so if I get a chill I just push my button and the vest warms me up. I love my vest. I also have two batteries so I don’t get caught without a charge. The vest I wear under my winter jacket.

What do you all think about heated jackets? Do you have one or have you tried one? Do you have an Ororo or what other brands do you recommend? I know there is a pretty big divide it seems where some don't like them at all and others love them. I really think it comes down to what activities you do and where you live as far as climate. For me I will use the heated jacket for shorter activities and when I am closer to home. When I am going out on all-day adventures, I will stick to a winter jacket with layers where I don't have to worry about the battery. I will update you guys if anything changes with my thoughts on it through the winter. Have a great day, everyone!

I wonder how the technology of the heating elements is improving, because I have an Ororo heated fleece jacket with 3 zones, and the same battery as the video, and after 12 hours of wear on low, the battery can still have 4 lights on it. Or maybe it's to do with temperature control if it's not that cold. I don't know. To save battery, I turn on preheat, but I don't wait the 5 minutes for it to finish, I turn it down to medium as soon as I feel some heat, and then I do the same turning it down from medium to low when I feel the heat. If I feel a chill during the day, I turn it up for a few seconds to feel the heat, but most of the day, it's on low.

If you put this under a jacket as a layer,,, Think it would be good for extreme cold? Like if you had a jacket, Liner and then this over body?

I also wear a regular gilet (vest!) over mine, and it hides the lights.

How do you turn button light off while having heat on, or are you able to even turn it off?

Lights can't be turned off while heating. Btw do you have the jacket? If so, how is it?

@svrbent1236 I got a medium vest and fits like a large but battery seems to have longevity and vest gets fairly warm.

Unfortunately that was one of my cons about this jacket is the controls and lights on the outside. I would have preferred a way to turn the lights off or if the controls were maybe on the inside of the jacket. I don't always want to be lit up like a Christmas tree haha.

Longer is the way forward,like a coat.Maybe price would rise,but so would overall protection.

I've always thought that these things would work better if they were an inner garment like a vest or T-shirt and not an outer jacket. It's a bit like heated seats in your car or an electric blanket on your bed, it needs to be close to your body for full effect.. .

Yes I believe so the closer to your body the better it would work. Maybe a heated hoodie or vest and then a normal jacket over might be a good way to go.

It can be washed in cold water and gentle cycle and hang dried.
