I'm glad you mentioned honey badgers are prey to lions, leopards, hyenas, and crocodiles. Some people won't believe that. Just to add, honey badgers are also prey to large constrictor snakes, wild hunting dogs, and - rarely - jackals. Honey Badgers are quick but slow runners. Straight up fleeing would get them killed. So instead of fleeing like other prey do, they evolved their aggressive defense along with their skunk-like pungent odor to help them deter predators. All mustelids can defend well above their weight class. Honey badgers are among the better mustelid defenders. That's why we have so much observation footage of them being poke tested by predators. Their defense may not save them every time, but it works well enough to keep the species from going extinct.
@jcpenny3606

Them apex predators will prey or attack anything, including each other, but they rarely prey on honey badgers.Only the leopard will put the most effort into it, mainly because the leopard hunts on its own. Surely if they come across a honey badger, they will harass it, try to bully it, or even attack it, but they not going to risk injuries for something that small, wild, and crazy.
@dunringill1747
@dunringill1747 7 ай бұрын
@@jcpenny3606 What you stated is wrong on many accounts. You have done this on many comment sections. Please stop spreading misinformation. Many predators of honey badgers are not apex predators. Honey badgers are great sparring partners (unwilling partners) for predators to play / practice on. Often, mothers will let their juvenile offspring "play" with honey badgers to help them build up their hunting skills. That is why we have so much recorded film footage of it.

@@dunringill1747 You just contradicted yourself. Didn't you just say "I'm glad you mentioned honey badgers are prey to lions, leopards, hyenas, and crocodiles. Some people won't believe that. Just to add, honey badgers are also prey to large constrictor snakes, wild hunting dogs, and - rarely - jackals. " Bro, with the exception of jackals, all the animals in that list you agreed upon are apex predators. Quit lying too, I don't see no elephant or rhino hunting a honey badger, I don't see no antelope hunting a honey badger. I don't see no turtle hunting a honey badger. lol, and most of the footage shows the adults messing with honey badgers. There are certainly a few instances of cubs involved but the adults were there too, and the footage shows the adults viciously attacking the honey badger. You don't make any sense too. What good is for the cubs to train on honey badgers when their preferred meals are much larger meatier prey that have no resemblence whatsoever to a little honey badger. How is an antelope the same as a badger. How is a buffalo the same as a badger. How is the zebra the same as a badger. They're nothing alike at all.

I watched vid with him where they wanted to see how smart he was. They put some food up hanging from a tree with a bit of rope so it was out of the badger's reach. They put him in a crate that was positioned so he could NOT use it to get the food from its position where it was left then released him. So, he had no way of getting the food. What did he do? He pushed the crate until he could use it to reach the food. That showed that not only did he understand spatial awareness but he also understood how to manipulate his environment to get what he wanted. The animal behaviourists said only a few animals such as crows and apes could do that... and the honey badger was one of the smartest animals on the planet!

Honey badgers are known for their fearlessness, which is often attributed to their intelligence, resourcefulness, and strong sense of self-preservation. It's not just honey badgers, it's the whole familia, the mustelids. Weasels, stoats, mink, mongooses (is it mongeese?), ferrets etc etc are fearless. Yes, I like the way you do vdo, especially the script. I mostly listen while driving, so I won't rate editing but sounds is fine. Not overly enthusiastic, not too low, has life in it. Good one.

Bravo! And yes your editing skills and amount of time it took to create this video is admirable. Really great job and appreciated. Honey Badger is my branding and mascot and I love what you did with these clips and your storytelling, even including Randall, is really well done. I'm emailing you to ask you a question, if you see that come through. Love your work.

My god - they are incredibly and indubitably intelligent! Jeez! Rolling up mud balls to escape. He and his waiting till both could escape through the gate. What is very interesting is that he escapes only to go see his human “dad”. Okay, most of the time. So like most wild animals, they can form relationships with humans - and he doesn’t bite or go after him. incredible - really. I also liked that you covered so many aspects of the honey badgers’ behavior and included some fossil records, too :) 🦡🦡🌱🪨🌷

Like the quality of the content here, sub for sure. Maybe filter your voice a bit in the basses because it's very loud compare to the background theme, other than that you're doing it righty dodeli dee

Loved the video. My take on why they go for the gonads is because biting a testicle HURTS, really hurts. Hurts enough to stop the fight. Super smart, problem solving animals live longer than stupid ones. Eat better too. Three cheers for Darwin.

@@RuminatingWizard The Bible is not only wrong about everything, but it fosters an attitude of dismissal to the natural world. That, and its twisted view of sexual issues, and the savage and brutal ways the Abrahamic god instructs his "chosen people" to plunder, rape, murder, and enslave their neighbors are some of the glaring reasons why more and more people are coming to view the Bible with disgust. It's one of the least enlightened of all the holy books in the world.
