Our education also assumes this and tailors education to teach children to read. Yeah, I may eventually met the 4-year old that reads well, but the exception really shouldn't alter my opinion of the rule. I have to extrapolate that people are generally peaceful and not violent just so that I can leave my house alone and unarmed. Everyone in the comments is talking about education and tight communities, but Jewish trade networks were a HUGE deal, perhaps the biggest factor in establishing the disproportionate wealth of the Jews early on and making it much easier to find a new home and re eastablish wealth after an expulsion (after all, a craftsman is decently wealthy, but a merchant with such a wide network would have been massively rich).

I recommend the book City of Lights- It is a collection of journal entries from a Jew that traded in the 1200's. It is an interesting glimpse of the world of trade, accounting and business, along with his personal insights on life. He gives detailed descriptions of each city where he stops, and also the city laws pertaining to Jews. I always thought that the most important factor in this was investment within one's community. the more you prioritize your own people when spending your money the more you and your community at large rise. And it's not Jews alone who did this, it's just that they were the most notable back in the day. Chinese people do this too in the US. Syrians do this in Egypt, etc. So if you were a still poor but promising Jew with good eye for investment, it is more likely for you to find another Jew to help you through your journey until you reach wealth than a person of the majority community is likely to have a peer of his help him. Minorities that prioritize assimilation into majority culture rather than investment within their community are bound to have very little wealth as a collective in my opinion; because the money stays very little time inside rather than make its rounds multiple times within that community and helping everyone.

I talk about this with a friend a lot, along a similar vein. I have noticed this pattern. Living in Toronto, there are enclaves of certain groups who stick together, live together, hire each other, and generally look out for their own overall (ignoring tribalism and religious differences and all that stuff). But I am west African and my friend is east African, and we noticed black businesses or individuals don’t help each other out, to the same extent. Either it’s a crab in the bucket mentality (that I truly believe is induced by growing up in poverty-like situations, I’ve gathered this from travelling) or just being friendly and open and accepting to anyone (versus other groups) and thus spreading the wealth and success to others. I am generalizing heavy of course. Jewish people have done this extremely well as you say. One doesn’t even need to enter conspiracy theory to find the answers to why they are so rich - maybe the conspiracies are “true” (I don’t think so) but the very fact that their oppression over millennia has caused them to be insular and self-sufficient is more than a complete explanation for why they have so much wealth. I would like to point out that the Emcee and more importantly the billionaire business man Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) basically said that this is the model of how Black people in America should follow to become successful as a people in The Story Of O.J. One other reason not mentioned in the video of why Jews are rich is simply for the fact that over many centuries of being given the choice to be expelled or to convert to Christianity, the poor Jews with little skill or education couldn’t afford to leave and just converted to Christianity (thus removing them from the Jewish population) the educated or skilled Jews had the means to leave and continue being Jewish.

These videos are sponsored party by the Ohio sunni, the Ohio methodist church, the Ohio catholic church, and the Ohio Jewish community. These sponsorships are a direct reaction to the shooting at the Pennsylvania synagogue dispite it being a fairly long time ago it's still fresh in our hearts and minds, we the collective of Ohio are attempting to take down antisemitism by sponsoring such ads. Simply put, in general, yes. We are richer. Why? Because throughout history, we have always had to save our money just in case the government issues a decree to kill us all. So, we had to be able to move very quickly, to another country. This means we had to have money. Starting a new life in a different country costs money.
